Woohoo! Yippee! ZM is running at startup. :D My problem was looking more and more like an intractable user error, so I reinstalled SUSE and ZM. Problem solved. Card was detected and configured during OS installation. Selected Card Type > Other Vendors > "Kodicom 4400R (master)" or "Ko...

Good morning, Mikael. The card was installed according to the wiki using modprobe bttv gbuffers=16 card=133,132,133,133 I can confirm the increased buffer setting in /sys/module/bttv/parameters/gbuffers and card settings in /sys/module/bttv/parameters/card. I look forward to reading your findings. P...

Good morning! 1) Yes, ZM works if started manually, but fails (dev/vid in red) if started on boot. 2) No, I can't say with certainty that the bttv drivers are installed by the time ZM starts, but that's due to ignorance on my part. Linux is new to me. I can tell you that ZM is the last item to load ...

Yes, I can confirm that I have a /dev/video0 device file. I'm using a Kodicom 4400R card and currently testing with 1 camera. No /dev/video0 errors when I start and stop ZM via console or command line. I rec've /dev/video0 errors only in relation to attempts to run as service at system boot. zmdc.lo...
