Re: DVR Build
Ahh, okay, thank you. Here's a pic of the 48v injector I got (mostly for testing, but which will eventually be used somewhere). IPCamAdapter.png I haven't had a chance to hook this up to the SV3C camera and get it connected to ZM, but it's on my list of stuff to do this weekend. Does this switch loo...

Re: DVR Build
Thank you for the info, snake. There are vendors selling used rack servers on ebay with 1 or 3-year warranties for $300-500. That's what I do. Hmmm, that sounds like a really good way to get a lot of bang for the buck. 802.3 POE is the only way to go. Don't mess with 12V passive POE. You need adapte...

Re: Connecting wired ethernet camera via wifi
I'd recommend you stay away from using wifi with a camera system. You will have the same problem everyone else has... the camera will periodically go offline, and you will have to cycle power on the device to bring it back online. It is merely a question of how often this will happen. Sounds like y...

Re: Connecting wired ethernet camera via wifi
Many of the WIFI extenders have an ethernet port that is used to configure the device. Thanks bbunge. The one I have (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R92CL5E/) does have a port on the bottom that's supposed to be able to serve as a wifi bridge. I'll have another go at it this weekend and see i...

Re: Connecting wired ethernet camera via wifi
I haven't been able to get this to work yet; I'm unsure how to tell what the IP is of the camera that's plugged into the ethernet extender/bridge. Nothing I've tried yet seems to connect.

Re: Connecting wired ethernet camera via wifi
Thank you BaseballSS; I'll give this a whirl and see what happens. My plan is to cut a shallow trench out to my mailbox, about 60ft from my house. I'm going to cut a small hole in the back of the box (which faces the house) and mount the camera inside the mailbox looking out through the hole. I just...

Connecting wired ethernet camera via wifi
This isn't specifically a Zoneminder question, but it does involve hooking up to Zoneminder so I thought I'd throw it out there for comments and/or suggestions. I have a wired, weatherproof POE camera from SV3C that I'd actually like to connect over wifi. This camera will be mounted outside my home ...

Re: Connecting Wyze V2 to Zoneminder
I'm glad you got it working! I should definitely mention that you were also very, very helpful, and I appreciate everything you and the other folks did here to get me going. I can't thank you guys enough. :) zmNinja is a fantastic mobile viewer for ZM. It's well-worth the $5 bill. There is a 'Mobil...

Re: Connecting Wyze V2 to Zoneminder
After a fair amount of fiddling around and a great deal of skilled assistance from a user named " InnocentBystander " in the Wyze forum, I was able to get RTSP working in ZM. There's a long thread here where you can follow my blundering and flailing, and finally the successful conclusion: ...

Re: Connecting Wyze V2 to Zoneminder
In fact, I see an entry for Wyze Cam V2 on ispy. Did you try that? They generate this string: http://<name>:password>@<IP address>image.jpg I've tried a few options using that (with my own IP) but no luck so far. I found this image in the Wyze forum discussion , but there's not enough there to real...

Re: Connecting Wyze V2 to Zoneminder
I changed the capture height to 1920 X 1080, same result.
I'll contact Wyze and see if I can find out the port, and if the URL that their app generates is correct.
Thank you for all your help, and I'll let you know what I find out.

Re: Connecting Wyze V2 to Zoneminder
Ahh, that did it. I see several Foscam cameras but I don't see the Foscam model R2. I tried one of the pre-made Foscam selections but when viewing the feed I didn't see any change (like control buttons); I'm guessing there's more I need to do to enable it, or...? I'd love to find scripts for the Amc...

Re: Connecting Wyze V2 to Zoneminder
Hmmm, this gets odder and odder.... The Wyze beta app that supports RTSP doesn't specify a port in the software when you view the device RTSP info. I tried several ports to no effect. One note is that it says "Oprn the URL on your RTSP compatible video player while using the local network"...
