Not really - I simply installed the Ubuntu-bundled MariaDB (10.1 train) which took care of the MySQL - MariaDB change, then added the MariaDB PPA for the 10.3 train and upgraded.
Take a backup before you start, I'm not taking the blame if your installation breaks

Echo the above. Migrated a server from mySQL 5.7 to MariaDB 10.1 and on to 10.3.12 on Ubuntu 18.04 and load dropped from ~1.5 to ~0.7 same camera analysing similar scenes

When the filesize of event capture videos, events last hour, last day, last week, last month are displayed - trailing zeroes are truncated/omitted leading to display inconsistency.
