Re: A ZM 1.30.x to 1.34.x Upgrade - In Pictures (Post 1 of 2)

I looked for an "Archive Configs" feature in the web console but did not find it. So I'm not sure what you want. I do not keep logs to save storage space and because ZM 1.30.x had been "completely trouble free" in the past. My ZM setup is a basic "out of the box" config...

A ZM 1.30.x to 1.34.x Upgrade - In Pictures (Post 1 of 2)

Attached to this post a series of screen captures showing the 'monitorix' Linux (and Windows?) monitoring utility on the dedicated server that I use for Zoneminder. I have captured the "Weekly" displays for a time period looking back 7 days from now. My upgrade took place on 9-May-2021; yo...

Feedback - Poor Performance Using 1.34

I am using ZM 1.34 as found in the Devuan (Debian clone) repo. That means I had to update to the Devuan 'chimaera' release, basically Debian 'bullseye'. That meant a Linux kernel jump from 4.16.x or 4.19.x to 5.10.x. I have not noticed any issues running Linux 5.10 on a Supermicro 2558 and 2758 boar...

Turn Off The GUI UI When Cycling Views

In 1.30 (dfsg something) version of Zoneminder...when watching a cycling view of 3 monitors I was NEVER pestered by the GUI stealing screen real estate. I could run that 24x7 on an Intel D2550 CPU at 1.86 GHz and never 'hang' the PC. Zoneminder 1.34 as found in the Devuan repo...when watching the sa...

Re: ZM Server Optimization Comments

I tried to write a meaningful, thoughtful, detailed, and carefully edited reply, but the forum software timed me out or something and "ate" my lengthy posting by forcing me to login again. :x I guess that's a "feature" of phpBB or something? If time permits on another day...

ZM Server Optimization Comments

I seem to remember reading somewhere an online article, most likely written by a ZM programmer, regarding various ways to optimize your ZM server. Some of the comments that stick in my mind are "more CPU cores than CPU speed" and "don't run a monitoring display screen on the server&qu...
