Re: How to avoid recording snow and rain?

That's an issue for me too. But I have managed to limit the amount of alarms.

In my experience setting buffers / Alarm Frame Count to 3 is too much, it will cause missed events. Instead I use a value of 2.

Also configure zones to use blobs, as this will require changes to of a certain size.

Re: ZM stopped with error

ZM has stopped again. I can't say it's running smoothly. The newest part of the log says: 2018-02-06 17:18:16.920335 zmc_m5 1940 ERR Unable to get response, disconnecting zm_remote_camera_http.cpp 1141 2018-02-06 17:18:16.836086 zmc_m8 22542 ERR Unable to get response, disconnecting zm_remote_camera...

Re: ZM stopped with error

Aaah. So, what equals what - is "RTP/Unicast" TCP? Since my first post, I reinstalleded ZM on another machine. It lowered the /dev/shm usage, to the 26% mentioned, but now this new installation has stopped too. Like with my first installation, it seems to be caused by decoding frame issues...

Re: ZM stopped with error

I don't seem to have a TCP/UDP options choice in the cameras, and no key frame settings. One of the complaining cameras, a Trendet TV-IP320PI, has a main stream of type H264. It also has a secondary stream of much lower resolution, thus of no interest to me. ZM receives data from this camera suing R...

ZM stopped with error

My ZM installation has a bad tendency to stop by itself, once in a while. Today it did it again, apparantly caused by some network frame issue. Why are the incomplete frames not just discarded? I see this in the log, any ideas?: 2018-01-24 06:21:06.605646 zmc_m6 23329 ERR 11: 00 00 01 06 e5 01 80 80...

Re: Determine what caused alarm

Hi Paco.

That options is already checked.

When studying the frames marked as alarm frames, all I see is one thin red line, as a box, around the entire frame (captured image). So I cannot see which of the zones caused the motion detection.

Determine what caused alarm

I have Monitors with multiple zones. When I get an alarm, I sometimes wonder what caused the alarm - which zone, and which part of the image. How do I see that? From what is stated in the userguide, it seems that Blobs are shown with the configured color, but I don't use blobs (yet), as I want to us...

Fail2ban requirements

I read https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?t=24470 about configuration of fail2ban for Zoneminder. It doesn't work for me, maybe I put the lines in the wrong sections of the config files... Anyway, is this really necessarry? ZM uses Apache on Ubuntu, so can't fail2ban simply be configured fo...
