Well thanks for the ideas on Apache or browser logs.
As it turns out I got too busy to follow up but did an update to Tumbleweed 20210131 and zm 1.34.21-32.67 today. Everything is back to normal so I'll call that a win!

UPDATE: After more troubleshooting I discovered the problem was incorrect timezone in /etc/php7/apache2/php.ini. The value was somehow changed to date.timezone = [UTC]. I guess you could setup a cron to do a daily dump of remote sql database, and rsync that plus your events, images directories to your local machine. Then import the database and do zmaudit.pl? Never tried it but seems like it could work in theory.

I had a similar experience with ffmpeg not being found on Suse tumbleweed install. Unfortunately there are other things broken for zoneminder on tumbleweed so I can't help with ffmpeg at the moment. I may try going to leap 15 instead.
