Re: High CPU usage

For general high CPU usage tweaks see https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=28292 For your setup, using Passthrough and not recording any JPEG frames will be the most efficient. You can't set max FPS on ZM for FFMPEG, only on camera. Delete that entry, then set FPS on camera to 5 or 10.

Re: Camera still thinks it's linked

Are you sure the entry from LinkedMonitors is deleted on the settings page for the cameras? Sounds like it didn't delete correctly. Delete the entries for the linkedmonitors field. Either using phpmyadmin, or a mysql query from the DB and you should stop receiving those errors. The db field for Link...

Re: Need Recommendation for Zone Minder Server

Debian 9 has install for 1.32.3 in various flavors. I set up a Pi 3B+ tonight with ZM 1.32.3.So with Debian 9 on at least an i5 quad core and 16 GIG ram it should run you just fine. Looks like you are right. ZMRepo appears to have libmp4v2-2 as a dependency in debian/control and the cmake config fo...

Re: Camera still thinks it's linked

Logon to mysql with mysql -u root -p then run the following commands:

Code: Select all

show databases;
use zm;
show tables;
select * from Monitors\G
Do any monitors have entries for the LinkedMonitors field? Have you restarted ZM?

Re: Need Recommendation for Zone Minder Server

I'm running ver 1.30.04 on Debian 9 with 4 2mp poe cameras set to Mocord at 9 fps and everything works fine. I want to upgrade the cameras to at least 4mp, possibly as high as 8mp if the price is right, as well as add 5 more cameras for a total of 9. Buy a used server on ebay or a local IT recycler...

Re: <Solved> PurgeWhenFull won´t purge or purge too much on Storagearea

What I said works on my machine, I'm using Ubuntu 19.04. See http://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=28190&p=110035 Which distribution? What instructions did you use to install ZM? It sounds like you have something else going on. The default purge when full function is unconventional due t...

Re: <Solved> PurgeWhenFull won´t purge or purge too much on Storagearea

In 1.32+ I believe you have to add to the existing purge when full filter

Code: Select all

AND "storage area" equal to <storage area name>
This is probably only when you are using a storage area different from the default.

Re: DVR Build

Can you expand a little bit on what you mean by "You need adapters, and it looks poor"? I'm not sure what you mean there. (??) Also, instead of 12v, I'm guessing you're saying to use 48v? I can't tell what voltage the switch I mentioned uses- it doesn't say anything about it as far as I can see. A ...

Re: Distorted video over time

You shouldn't have Max FPS set on ZM for FFMPEG, generally. See the help icon next to it. Leave that blank. If that doesn't solve it, search around these forums. Some people have had screen tearing and artifacts solved with a variety of solution such as: Force TCP or UDP mode on camera. Lower camera...

Re: DVR Build

There are vendors selling used rack servers on ebay with 1 or 3-year warranties for $300-500. That's what I do. Then there's no need to build anything up. It also works good with 1.32+ as you can utilize the docks for multiple storage areas. I have an R710 with a 10TB HDD* in it, and I'm going to th...

Re: Need help configuring ZM so I can save the video in the way I want

Currently I have three of my cameras in Modect mode, and one in Mocord mode. Neither seems to give me what I'm looking for, and I'm wondering if anyone has a combination of settings here that will accomplish the following: Storing 1 fps footage of a monitor all the time (24/7) During an alarm, savi...

Re: Genbolt 1080p outdoor camera.

A few notes about your setup. You can start off with 1.30.4 which is the old stable, but if you want 1.32+ you might want to consider the Ubuntu 19.04 wiki install here, which gives the benefit of MP4 encoding. The encoding will offer compression and long term storage. Something to think about down ...

Re: Connecting Wyze V2 to Zoneminder

Hopefully Wyze will be kind enough as to provide you with the camera stream paths, but after that, you may have to use wireshark, and do some digging. Any good camera will include the stream paths in the User Manual, or they will be in the ispy website. See: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Finding_Camer...

Would you be so kind to write me a hint, which options in Kernel config should be set off regarding above you mention in a code.
Thanks for pointing that out. I've updated the post.

Re: Disabling Spectre and Meltdown mitigations (speculative execution)

For starters, I'm going to link to https://make-linux-fast-again.com Which currently has: noibrs noibpb nopti nospectre_v2 nospectre_v1 l1tf=off nospec_store_bypass_disable no_stf_barrier mds=off mitigations=off These are obviously some options you can pass to the Kernel (such as via bootloader / Gr...
