Re: Zoneminder Server Internet Security Considerations

@BlackAndChrome I'm a bit confused by the line of thinking presented in the thread you linked to. - If the NFS share isn't there when zoneminder starts up, the system will hang or wait a long time wait until the share comes up. - Autofs will stop the system from hanging at startup. (But won't solve ...

Well, it should be there, so you'll need to edit the file.

The sql queries show that STRICT_TRANS_TABLES is still set. I think it's the root cause of your problem.

Re: Can't save "Add New Monitor" in ZM-Console

@dorus43 The instructions mention that you should cp /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf /etc/mysql/my.cnf and then edit the second file. Do you have the "NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION" line in the second file? You can also logon to mysql (mysql -u root -p) and run the following SELECT @@GLOBAL.sq...

Re: Zoneminder Server Internet Security Considerations

@BlackAndChrome
Your question is kinda off-topic but have you considered using /etc/fstab instead, or do you really need to have them mounted on the fly?

Re: Can't save "Add New Monitor" in ZM-Console

All that stuff is in the instructions. When all else fails... The guide that the OP refers to makes no mention of the STRICT_TRANS_TABLES directive, which is what *appears* to be the issue here. We'll need to await the OP's response to see if its removal was necessary. In my case, the sql_mode was ...

Re: Can't save "Add New Monitor" in ZM-Console

I had the same problem with my install on Debian 8 with MySQL upgraded to v5.6. Long story short, you probably need to have the line sql_mode=NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION in file /etc/mysql/my.cnf in place of sql_mode=NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION,STRICT_TRANS_TABLES The serverid column is integer, so should onl...

Strange MJPEG frame rate behaviour

I'm new to Zoneminder and have recently (and successfully) installed v1.29.0 on a Debian 8 server build, running on a 4-(real)-core machine with 6GB of memory. The LAN is gigabit and, for now, the only camera is a 2.0 Mpixel dome camera from a company called BCS, model number BCS-DMIP3200IR-E, which...
