Re: Raspberry Pi Cam module Streaming RTSP h264 video to ZM

Thanks for the tutorial! Will give it a spin when I get my rasp+cam. Have you tried using the hardware h264 encoding capabilities in the GPU ? Maybe it could help reduce latency and increase resolution and fps... it's purportedly specced for 1080p @ 30 fps. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopi...

Re: Recomended 8ch pci card anyone?

Those cards only record in CIF Recording Resolution 320*240 (NTSC), 352*288(PAL) Some techwell chips are supported in Linux. I'm also trying to find one that works well in Linux with full D1 and 50 or more fps for at least 4 inputs. Cheapest option is a couple of bt878 chip card with 4 inputs each (...

Re: Memory or RamDrive Buffer?

I really doubt too many writes were the cause of the malfunction. Either you got a bad batch (did you buy the drives at the same time?) or there is something wrong with your computer (lousy PSU?), or - most likely - you were just unlucky... I have a couple of embedded linux DVR's working 24/7 always...

Re: Fushicai USBTV007 - yet another Easycap clone

With the latest version of the module (PAL support added on 2013-12-09 by Georg Kaindl), I get 25fps full D1 in zoneminder with a PAL cam on either RCA (channel 0) or S-video (channel 1) inputs. Zoneminder actually reports around 25.6 fps and the image is more stable if you set the maximum capture r...

Re: Motion Time of Day Limitation

That's pretty much how most embedded linux standalone DVR's work. Generally with a matrix of one square per hour. You can even configure the recording quality and what kind of alarm is set of or not according to day of week and hour. Zoneminder could be even better like having a special schedule for...

Fushicai USBTV007 - yet another Easycap clone

Some of the latest Easycap clones (originally with STK1160 chip) now come with the Fushicai USBTV007 chip, lsusb lists it as 1b71:3002. This must be the 4th or 5th different model sold in the same exact packaging that at first glance promises you the widely supported STK1160 aka Easycap/DC60 model. ...
