Re: Zoneminder 1.36 daylight saving time
Changing the time in Ubuntu and then through the Zoneminder web interface worked perfectly. Thank you. Good to hear. Timezone changes are always a bit of a nuisance! UTC has the advantage of logs etc. always increasing in time, whereas a missing hour (spring) and a duplicate hour (autumn) can cause...

Re: Zoneminder 1.36 daylight saving time
Current time settings: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS: time system using UTC, currently 1 hour behind UK BST (DST) Zoneminder 1.36.33: time within Options > System > TIMEZONE set to 'Unset- use value in php.ini', and time within the log system display indicates UTC. My gut reaction is the two lines above are the...

Re: Fix STOPPED state after reboot
You're right. We probably ought to have the "right" instructions pinned somewhere, so when the question comes up we can just tell them where to look. OR, maybe a new "New to Zoneminder? Install tips." or similar would be where to put it. That is the most practical answer ... my ...

Re: Nubie needs help setting up zoneminder
Source path seems to only contain an IP address. That may be the problem. Question for anyone reading this ... does that "source path" need more flesh on the bones, something more like http://192.168.1.180/main.html?first=0 If you look at examples for source path for e.g. Hikivision camera...

Re: Fix STOPPED state after reboot
However, if you use the recommended script, that's in there. One of the recurring problems seems to be that there are definitive, tested and we-know-these-work instructions. Then, there are other sites with out of date, incomplete instructions. And finally, there are AI systems chomping through all...

Seasoned Linux users avoid systemd ... so might well get caught on that when forced to use the thing.TruckerDave wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 3:09 pm So, simple it's probably a given to seasoned Linux users.

I always get the error "Failed to construct 'URL': Invalid URL" Post a screenshot of exactly what you have in the various boxes for the camera's setup. If you need to redact a password or something, try not to take out TOO much info ;) It's possible that ZM is trying to assemble the infor...

Re: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Table 'zm.Config' doesn't exist at /usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder/Config.pm line 98.
The command that failed is to restore the backup you took.
I suspect you probably didn't take a backup as directed earlier up the page, and got a "zmdb.sql: No such file or directory" complaint. Which is fair enough, if the db was not present, or trashed, no point making a backup

Re: VM ZM not loading host's browser localhost/zm/?
I suspect the host -> browser -> http://localhost/ -> output: Apache2 Default Page, may be sourcing from another apache file, not related to the VM ZM Apache file? RewriteBase /zm/api 1) Yes using just "localhost" will get you a default Apache page. Probaby the default "It works!&quo...

Re: Can ZM control PTZ on generic security cameras?
Thanks, install's not so easy though. If I understand correctly, ZM is an OS? That means I can't install it as an app on a desktop and will need to run a VM right? ZM is not an OS -- it runs as an application, with many components, under your existing operating system (e.g. for me, Slackware). It n...

It's great when someone tells you to check file permissions without specifying what they should be. ... and this is why it's not particularly useful having people feeding AI/bot generated content into the forum. The post you refer to seems to come from a bot account. Unless they wish to post to con...
