Re: Filters loop recording

Start Date Less than or equal to -30 day Make sure that's MINUS 30 days, not just "30". The minus means "30 days ago", the "less than or equal to" means older than that time. You only need one filter to deal with "Purge When Old" -- you way want a second filter for "Purge When Full" to stop your di...

Re: Install ZoneMinder on Rasp. Zero W

Can you clarify if you mean the raspberry pi's own, flex-connected, camera? If so, it doesn't have an ip address/password. It's a physically attached camera (like a USB camera) to your computer (Pi Zero) and so will be treated as such -- maybe /dev/video (followed by 0,1,10) and only visible *on* th...

Re: intermittent blurring / streaking

I have Hivision camera and having same smearing image issue. By setting the Alarm Frame Count to 3 under the Buffer tab in Monitor had help but does not totally eliminate the false alarm. "Alarm Frame Count to 3" means it will ignore short term "massive change" situations (e.g. a frame or two of ju...

Re: intermittent blurring / streaking

Many references to this on the forum under blurring, streaking, smearing, pixellating and all other possible synonyms -- you are getting a bit of corrupted data and the rest of the video streeeeeeeeeeee ... :) ... until the next block/group of pictures starts afresh and everything gets back in sync.

Re: Timestamp in events are not there when using passthrough

Yes, normal. Pass through shovels data from the camera into a file. Fast and dirty. The re-encode option takes the data from the camera, decompresses it, overlays time/date etc. and re-compresses it back to disk, which takes more work. You could get the camera to add timestamps, it it supports that ...

basically your camera will bombard the server with triggers and your server will, in turn, bombard the camera with TCP acknowledgments) and delays (Google buffer bloat).
It does sound like "I Denial-Of-Service'd-Myself-In-The-Foot" in the making.

Re: I can't hear you

If VLC plays no audio, the audio is either not there (my VLC warns when there is no audio stream) or is not understood, or is a silent stream. If you have FFMPEG installed, try running "ffprobe /path/to/a/video.mp4" and see what it says, it will tell you what's inside the container, e.g :- Duration:...

Re: Re-using cameras on existing NVR setup

I cant imagine its a truly fixed address, cause then you couldn't have more than 1 camera on a given subnet, they would fight over that one address and nothing would work. Partly true. Many cameras on one IP address -- not going to work. However. There is precedent for devices "new out of the box" ...

Re: Problem with image from Axis p33

Search the forums for screen tearing. That doesn't look like the classic data-corruption that causes MPEG tearing artifacts. It looks like either the resolution or the colourspace (number of bytes per pixel) is wrong, and the picture is being scrambled because of it. Check *very* carefully that the...

Re: Camera errors and nothing to see

I think the best you can do is take whatever video they output and suck it into ZM just as a viewing platform "I noticed that the cameras only record when motion is detected and after recording 20 seconds they go "offline"." "I get some feeds when the cameras are recording and detecting motion. Oth...

Re: Camera errors and nothing to see

But they are not suitable for ZM then?? Can someone confirm that?? Whatever mode you set ZM in, the fundamental problem is that these cameras appear to be solving a different problem :( These cameras: Sit idle, not recording, not streaming, not even apparently on the network (404 ??). When they det...

Re: ZOSI ZR08MN (DVR) cannot talk to zoneminder

The result is that you cannot pull the videos and or jpg's from the DVR without their cloud service and apps, which requires you to register with them. I refuse to do that on principle. While I'm sorry to hear of your struggle with this device, I think your conclusion is perfectly sound -- and one ...

You say :- HTTP Port 86 Server Port 5000 Mobile Port 5001 NMAP says :- 23: A Telnet Port If NMAP can't find a server listening on port 86 then there's no server there, nor anything listening at 5000/5001. 86 is a non-standard port for http, port 80 is assumed if you just http://the-device/ you'd at ...

You could also try supplying a known-good analogue signal (from a composite output on a DVR/camera/anything else) to the card's inputs. If the signal from your camera is not a properly compliant PAL/NTSC signal, you may wel...
