Re: Best way to set up server for Zoneminder??
The easiest is to use a single LAN port and let your DHCP server assign IP addresses to the cameras and server. A static Ip address is a good idea for the server, however. As you have a second LAN port, you can set up a separate LAN for the cameras which will be isolated from your main LAN. I would ...

Re: downgrade 1.36 to 1.34
I've looked at you other posts. If you are running an old analog capture card the problem may be with the capture card and not Zoneminder. I seem to recall issues with old analog hardware on more recent Linux distros. I can't point to a source, however. Debian 11 may detect the card but not give ful...

Re: purgewhenfull does not list matches but works in the background
Well, when the filter runs in the background it deletes the first 100 matches. The question is how far below 20% does this take your storage? If you run the filter manually and the disk is not over 20% you will get no matches. I find purge when full to not be a good way to manage storage. It is bett...

Re: downgrade 1.36 to 1.34
No. Not unless you saved a backup of the zm database before you upgraded.
But, I need to ask why you want to downgrade?

Re: Video stopping recording in the middle of the Alarm
Remove the 3.00 from Analysis FPS. Leave setting blank Disable Save JPEGs. Video Writer use Camera Passthrough if you can. If you need to use Encode leave the next two to Auto. Lower the Pre and Post event image count. 20 should work for both Under MISC/Section Length the default is 600 seconds for ...

Re: Zoneminder keeps using all memory, physical and swap
Check the database server to see what it is using for resources. Are you using Mariadb? What cam resolution are you using? If 720P or 1040P you may want to drop down a bit. Capturing jffs or video? If both, turn jffs off. If jffs use video. I feel using video uses fewer database resources as there a...

Re: Unable to access console - Fresh Installation
Here are instructions that work for Debian 11 on PC or RPI. https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_11_Bullseye_with_Zoneminder_1.36.x For your RPI I would recommend the 64 bit OS. Use Mariadb instead of MySQL. These entries for the database server are not really necessary but I put them in as the worked...
