Re: CCTV PCIe Capture Card For 4x BNC Cameras
I only have two analog PAL CCTV cameras to test it with. Connected to one of the TW6816 chips I am getting 25fps on both cameras. It is not a powerful PC. A cheap Gigabyte M68M mobo, 1GB RAM and a dual core Athon II 270u processor (thats a rare a low power CPU using only 25W). Load is 0.52. I have n...

Re: CCTV PCIe Capture Card For 4x BNC Cameras
I have just installed the LinkDelight 8 channel PCI card (not PCI-E) on Lubuntu 12.10. I installed the tw68-v2 driver from git://gitorious.org/tw68/tw68-v2.git. It was a bare metal Lubuntu install. I just had to install git, make and gcc to run the git install. The card works fine although the colou...

Re: Backup data zoneminder and Database and something more.
I have cobbled together a backup script of my own. Maybe someone has done this before but I couldn't find anything that fitted specific requirement. I have a 400GB partiotion on my ZM box for the events and images. That gives me up to 21 days worth of events but sometimes only 18 days so I have a fi...

Re: software for android
I am curios, I have an Android phone and I access the ZM via the standard browser while wi-fi connected to my home network. What will you gain by bypassing ZM? If you want to bypass ZM what are you doing here?

Re: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Issues with Cameras
It looks just like a memory problem. Increase shmall and shmmax and try again.

Re: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Issues with Cameras
OK. I would turn on debugging in the options. (Options > Debug Tab and set Extra_debug on and level 9).
Add the cameras in sequence again. Browse the logs in /tmp and see if you can see any errors.

Re: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Issues with Cameras
Just a suggestion, try looking at the output from
zmu -q -d /dev/video0 -v
Did the video sources change when you added the third camera e.g. video0 became video1 and video1 became video2?

Re: ZM fails to start at boot
I had this problem too, Zoneminder was starting before mysql and so failed to start at boot. Try this
update-rc.d -f zoneminder remove
then
update-rc.d zoneminder defaults 92

Re: Daily alarm events video script
Suggestions. 1) ask the developers to zero pad the filename. This is basic common sense to anyone who has done serious IT work for the last 40 years, ok that includes me......2) I haven't seen the script but I am working on a bulk email and ftp script using "ls" to get a list of file, ther...

Re: Ordering parts for first setup
I have never read any comments on this forum about energy efficiency so here's my 2cent. The Athlon XP 2200+ is a 72W cpu. Add on the power for the mobo, graphics and other peripherals and you will be lucky to have a machine using less than 120W. In the UK with electricity at 12p/KwHr that is £126 p...

Help to compile ZM 1.24.x on Ubuntu 10.04 with latest ffmpeg
Hi, I posted on the Ubuntu Forum but got no reply so maybe someone here can help. I installed Zoneminder 1.24.2 and current ffmpeg modules in from the main repository via synaptic. When I try to view the image from my USB cam I get an empty white box and a "waiting for host" message, the s...
