This may be a better alternative, although I haven't tried it... sudo service network restart EDIT: Or this may be better... noh...

Re: U Server 11.10 64bit, ZM 1.25 source, libjpeg-turbo, Cam

I have two problems... The card supports 25FPS on each channel. But I can't figure out a way to view a camera at 25FPS. The card is PCI. My video card is also PCI. After going through this guide, my video card now seems to be disabled. My monitor (VDU) is switched on, but there's nothing on the scre...

Re: Ordering parts for first setup

Nice input. Well I won't be giving this to my Mum for X-Mass now anyhow, as I doubt it will be ready in time. So she won't have to worry about her electricity bill. :) I think I'll keep it for myself. It seems like a good introduction to Linux server systems. Very educational and very useful at the ...

If your camera looks like a thermal imaging camera (completely messed up colours), try changing the Capture Palette from YUV422P to YUYV. It worked for me. :D

And later do everything with root too.
After success, would it be wise to remove the root account for security reasons? If so, what's the command?

Thanks.

Re: Ordering parts for first setup

I'm thinking of using some CAT5E Cable, with these Baluns, and following this guy.

Good idea or bad idea?

Oh' and here's a link to the YouTube Video Tutorial I'm making.

Re: US11.10 32-Bit - VIDEO TUTORIAL - BT878A DVR

Well no one's complained about the F5 and F6 options, nor spotted any mistakes. So I guess it's safe to continue. :) I'll upload a slightly longer version later. I will keep uploading newer versions of the video so that people can point out mistakes or make suggestions which can be fixed or added ea...

US11.10 32-Bit - VIDEO TUTORIAL - BT878A DVR

I'm currently making a Video Tutorial from this guide. I've built the Box as you can read here . This is how it looks so far: YOUTUBE VIDEO I wasn't sure whether to leave the F5 options as they were or to select Install a minimal system ? I wasn't sure whether to leave the F6 options as they were or...

Re: Ordering parts for first setup

I didn't know it had adhesive properties. I've just ordered some Arctic Silver 5 . I think that's the proper stuff. There were some cheaper "Arctic Silver", but I doubt it's genuine. If it doesn't bond good enough, I've got some TIM-clean which usually removes it pretty easily. Then I'll just use th...
