I am doing an upgrade (now I have Zoneminder working on Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop) and I was wondering if anyone knows if I would gert a significant performance benefit from going with a quad core CPU instead of a dual core?

David's library find dropped my CPU usage from 100% to the 30s, some other tweaks dropped them lower. I have also found that using Chrome, not FireFox makes a very big difference...

Switched to Chrome for more speed and it makes a BIG difference for single cam viewing and for the console BUT, if you try to view in 'montage' mode - 'missing plugin' is the message for every cam .
