Here's a quick note on how images are processed: zmc: captures the raw image from a capture card and places it in memory space, or captures jpeg/mjpeg/rtsp/etc converts it into raw and places it in memory space. zma: will run any time any of the recording options are enabled as it'd duties are to a...

Ahhh thanks Flash_ Yes I think I had a typo in there. I will fix it. But yes, you have answered that. I made the assumption that an MPEG4/H.264 stream over RTSP is a newer feature in ZM and thus must be the better way to go. But you have agreed I am right in my thinking. I will have ZM hook into the...

Whats the point of MPEG4/H.264 for Zoneminder?

Hi all, In an effort to make my recordings from my camera more efficient, I was wondering what is the point of hooking into a cameras MPEG4/H.264 stream? It seems ZM operates on in individual JPEGS, so selecting MPEG4/H264 is forcing ZM to grab that video stream and convert it back to JPEGs. Wouldn'...

Looks like incorrect URL going by what I know of the vivotek cameras. If you set the stream (say stream 1) as JPEG, then you need to access it through http://<ip>/video.mjpg If you set stream 1 as MPEG4 or H.264, then access it through rtsp://<ip>:554/live.sdp rtsp://<ip>:554/live.mjpg does not exis...

Maybe an old post, maybe solved, but looking at the specs for that camera it looks like it will be the same as the IP8330 and IP8332. http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Vivotek Read info here I have published and following the link to the how-to. PS Just realised what forum this is in. I don't...

Re: Zoneminder & AMD64 systems

After a lot of time wasted, I think I found a solution. (AMD64) Edit the file /usr/bin/zmdc.pl (#sudo gedit /usr/bin/zmdc.pl) insert the following line: 8) $ENV{LD_PRELOAD} = '/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so'; this line should be inserted just before the "my @daemons = (" line just r...

ZMLarch virtually

Is it just me or running ZMLarch on a virtual machine + recording results in a frozen system? I have tried VitualBox and KVM and both consistently freeze if I start recording (in under 30mins worth of recording) There is nothing in the logs to indicate any system resource issue. I have given them lo...

Thanks.

If you are talking about getting the blast of light every 10 seconds, then I managed to stop that by ticking the "Disable IR LED"

I current do have the IR cut filter set to "Auto mode"
I have played with the light sensitivity setting. I think it is on normal currently.

I am curious about what this blast of what seems IR LED light every 9-10 seconds is.

Hitting the glass in front of it does the camera a dis-service, but if it was outside it may well make the night vision even better.

Anyone know night IR cameras well??

Good question. I didn't see any blue light, but I did see them emitting a huge blast of light, about every 9 seconds until I ticked the tick box marked: "Disable IR LED" The problem was I had it pointing out a window just to get an idea and it was glaring off the window every 9 seconds so ...
