You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

The only hiccup I had after that was having to 'chown' the symlink from root to www-data.

Thanks again!

That's what I suspected 4 days ago :)

I'm not saying it's not possible -- I just haven't figured out how, and neither has anyone on any of the forums I've asked.

Starting ZM with root instead of www-data

I realize this is probably very bad practice, but I'm at my wits end -- spending 4 days of my Christmas break on this wasn't what I had intended. The situation is my NFS mount can only be written to from root, and www-data can't write to it. So what I need to do is make ZM start as root, so it can h...

I was able to link the HDD directly to Ubuntu using the fstab, but the changes seem to be local (not adding to the HDD, just a cache of the structure or something) so that's not working. If anyone can help me get Ubuntu correctly hooked up to an NFS, I'd really appreciate it.

mkdir /mnt/smbfs mount -t cifs //192.168.1.50/sharename /mnt/smbfs -o user=username, password=password Then look in /mnt/smbfs Awesome! That did work, mostly - I now have the mount in that folder, all visible, but I don't have write access to it for some reason. I've even included the -w flag, but t...

Saving videos to NFS

I'm running ZM on a VM hosted on WHS - WHS has a large drive that I'd like ZM to use for storing all recordings, so I set up an NFS -- I can access it via File Browser with: smb:192.168.1.50/sharename/ But I can't figure out how to access the folder via terminal. Is there a better way to do this? * ...

Using that link direct in a browser I do get a picture, however, through ZM I just get an image placeholder.
I'm in the same boat. I can see the image fine when directly visiting the page, but ZM doesn't seem to like it.

Remote Source is red

Camera: Trendnet TV-IP110W ZM: v1.24.1 OS: Ubuntu 9.10 I've searched the forum and google, and haven't come up with why this is occurring -- I apologize if I've missed something. After adding my camera, the 'Source' is red, here's what I have in the source: Protocol: HTTP Method: Simple Host Name: a...
