Re: How to change Events path

FYI: You haven't mentioned your distro. For Ubuntu, locations are different, and I struggled a long time until I came upon someone else's post about using FSTAB. For an odd Ubuntu reason, symlinks weren't working properly and I had to use FSTAB to make it all work out. From the link: fstab could all...

Re: Best way to upgrade from 1.24.2 - Ubuntu packages 10.04

I tried upgrading, and had some difficulty. Couldn't make it work. IMHO, it's just much easier to do a complete re-install. New Ubuntu, follow instructions on 1.25 install to the letter. Change settings as needed (and for me, move the recording partition). I, however, use it for security camera vide...

Re: Any chance I can use this Hardware?

I think for one camera it should work fine. Depends on your camera too. For complete ease of use in your situation, whatever camera you buy probably comes with recording software (for Windows). You may want to just use that for 2 weeks, find your guy, and deal with person, and then move on with your...

Re: Zoneminder server settings

I'm not sure that is enough info without your individual camera settings. What seems to eat up all the available RAM on the system is the buffers. You could try reducing "Image Buffer Size", but it still needs to be around 2x "Pre Event Image Count" as per most recommendations. Some people have solv...

Sorry, but I've never had that many events, but do you mind posting your hardware configuration and camera type?

Re: slow down capture, speed up analysis or increase ring bu

I've only had this error when I was testing and having other issues... ZM was busy cleaning up alarms that couldn't record due to a bad symlink issue. What kind of CPU use are you having? With megapixel cams, I find ZM not very good with Mocord. Motion detection eats up a lot o CPU (although better ...

Re: Zmtrigger.pl stops suddenly -- Axis Motion Detection

thanks. I tried the code change but it didn't make a difference to me. still crashing the same way. I have 11 axis cameras, all doing motion detection. Most are doing motion detection in multiple zones--it helps capture smaller movements in different parts of the image depending upon how the cameras...

Zmtrigger.pl stops suddenly -- Axis Motion Detection

1.25 installed on Ubuntu desktop 11.04 as per the wiki detailed instructions for server. (NOTE: Thanks for the detailed instructions) System running well with 11 Axis Cameras. Lower CPU usage than previously. I can MOCORD without issues. I have installed Axis Motion Detection from the Wiki instructi...

Axis Send Notifications Continously While Event is Active

Axis has a new option on the M1011 Cams. On the Triggered Event Type Setup, bottom: Send Notifications Continuously While Event is Active It sounds like a more robust option than "trigger on motion" or the "trigger on motion/trigger off motion" that has been talked about here. Missed triggers wont m...

Axis M1011 and newer cams

First, I'd like to express my profound thanks to those of you who have posted such great info on getting this working. It does appear to me that the Axis camera setting steps are in a different order on the M1011 and 211M cameras I just received. (maybe from newer firmware?) 1. Motion Detection > Cr...

amd support

I did some research/work into this and I believe it does work with newer AMD cpus with MMX support.
cpuid |grep MMX

I have 6 GB of RAM on my (hopefully) production AMD-triple core, so long term a 64 bit option would great, although I don't think it's ever going to happen on that jpeg project.

I flipped the numbers to 480x640 several times.

It wasn't after a server and camera re-boot that it worked!

make sure you test on different systems

Was having a tough time building and testing my ZM system, including seeing a lot of delay in viewing. For me, part of the problem was viewing on my Atom based WinXP system my POS stuff is installed on. Lots of lag and eventually stopped displaying. (firefox too) Switching to Ubuntu/Firefox/Faster s...

System Benchmarks and Performance

I have a reasonable amount of experience with ONSSI's NetDVR product for windows, but reading the forums and building my own ZM system makes me wonder how performance compares. ONSSI system: I have 41 Axis IP cameras running... about 17- 210/211's (640/480), 19 - 211m, (1280x1024), and a few other c...
