lossless camera?

Are there any (non-AXIS) cameras that allow you to access the raw bitmap or tiff data from the camera? If not, do any allow lossless jpegs? I'm currently looking into cameras and it seems really really brain dead to have a system where the camera uses a jpeg chip to compress the data as a jpeg then ...

I'm confused as to why you're using ext3 at all . If I'm dealing with large files, especially video I'd look into XFS since that is specifically what it was made for. JFS is also an option.

BSTI? That way, when they get smashed, who cares? BSTI cameras are only a little more then the cost of a dummy camera. My only concern with this is back end hardware. I have a machine sitting the basement that was used to run a debian sound system. It's a old ASUS board with 2 450mhz Xeons and two 4...

Indoor camera looking out window, or outdoor camera?

So, in the last several years I've lived here, I've had one attempted break in. The general neighborhood is far worse however. One person was shot in the face earlier last week, in a gang related incident. Additionally, there were two events on my block this year which involved the city's SWAT. Ther...
