Re: Changing the Apache root directory for ZM

They seemed to be permissions based errors from memory, I will have a look this evening and see if I can gather any more. Yes, restarted Apache2 and even restarted the machine. The config changes were being recognised as I got an error, I just never managed to get past that error :) For now, having ...

Re: Changing the Apache root directory for ZM

Thanks knnniggett for spending the time to explain this.
The VM is purely for ZM, and this is only in a home environment and so not critical.
I will have a bit more a play now and will let you know how I get on.
Thanks again,
Regards,
Dave.

Re: Changing the Apache root directory for ZM

Ok, so after a lot of playing around I couldn't seem to change the root, I kept running into permission errors. So instead I just copied all the ZoneMinder web files to the default root directory with:

sudo su
command cp -r /usr/share/zoneminder/* /var/www

and that seems to work.

Changing the Apache root directory for ZM

Hi, I recently installed ZoneMinder on a Hyper-V (again) and all is good: http://dave.harris.uno/installing-zoneminder-on-ubuntu-in-hyper-v/ However, I would like to change the setup to remove the /zm in the URL and previously I have managed to change the root directory in Apache2 to accomplish this...

If I VPN in from work, i probably get about a 3-4 second delay, depending on traffic. You could possbily lower the frame rate and resolution to try and combat this delay? My system is offline atm whilst I do some work on fitting the cameras in more permanent positions, although im undecided where th...

Good work mbrinkho, some stuff there i wasn’t aware of, learn something new every day! :) Chris, my setup is like yours and keeps panning/tilting until the stop command is sent, i actually preferred it this way and so haven’t looked to change it. I guess you could alter the Perl script to auto s...

Viewing ZoneMinder Montage in Windows Media Centre

Just quickly, I have a windows Vista Ultimate Box with 2 * dual Freeview tuners and 2 * 1TB HDD's in the loft, and that serves the 5 Linksys DMA2100's around the house very nicely indeed. I've recently added TunerFreeMCE to give me all the iPlayer, 4OD etc services through this and apart from a few ...

Foscam FI8908W IP Camera with PT (no Z) Working in ZM 1.24.2 Just thought this might be useful for anybody using the Foscam IP FI8908W Cameras. Well i've kinda solved my own problem.

If i deleted the new control that i originally created and then edited the existing PanasonicIP camera entry and just changed the protocol to foscam (from 'PanasonicIP') it worked.

Just not sure why the control i added would not work?

Cheers,

DAVE.
