Re: Thousands of Blue Screen events on remote IP cameras

Similar issue here - I resolved it by removing any settings in "Maximum FPS" for each camera. HTH

Re: MJPEG vs MPEG for low bandwidth and CPU

concur +mastertheknife.

Switching from MJPG to MPEG/H.264 *significantly* reduces bandwidth and CPU load.

Everything works fine. Just those errors posting to the logs constantly.

Re: [REPOSTED PATCH] Fix "Incomplete read of frame image da

Works like a champ on 1.25.0. Any chance we can get this in future versions?

I'm also seeing tons of socket_sendto.

CentOS 5.6 32bit.

Re: Is ZoneMinder scalable?

@Flasheart - I can see where mysql can slow down quite a bit on a busy system. I've mitigated this to some extent by playing with the various SQL settings - the typical sort of things - increasing buffers, table caching etc. I am not a DBA but...thinking out loud, I would think multiple techniques c...

Re: Is ZoneMinder scalable?

Short of a massive configuration, I don't see the DB as being a limiting factor. As far as I can tell the DB only tracks limited information about the events. For example, my DB with 4 1/2 months of data is only 2GB is size. IMO the real work load is image analysis (CPU) and storage of video (IO). D...

Re: Is ZoneMinder scalable?

Yeah, we are using all POE for the cameras. Makes installation quite simple. I've done installations of both IP and analog cameras. Nothing beats the ease of install or the quality of picture you get with the IP cams. Axis may not be the highest end around, but for an office environment, with decent...

Is ZoneMinder scalable?

Greetings: Long time ZM user. I figured I would provide some feedback on a ZM setup we've been using the last few years. Running ZM v1.24.4 Server Setup: Dell PowerEdge R610 CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon E5530 @ 2.40Ghz OS: CentOS 5.6 Mem: 16GB Disk: (6) 146GB, 15K RPM SAS 6Gbps 2.5in RAID Controller: PERC H7...

Yeah; I just switched 9 Axis cameras from MJPEG to RTSP. The drop in CPU load is pretty dramatic. Most of the cameras were chewing 10% CPU (on a dual core 2.33Ghz) and now are using 3 - 4%. Very nice.

As an aside, will RTP streaming be more or less CPU intensive than MJPG?

Thanks for the excellent product!

Possible bug - rtp - can't set username and password

It appears the username and password "Admin" "123456" is hard coded and thus you are unable to define the real settings when using RTP with 1.24.

So I changed

ZM_JPEG_FILE_QUALITY
ZM_JPEG_ALARM_FILE_QUALITY

from 100 to 70 and the errors seem to of gone away. Fingers crossed.

Incomplete read of frame

I'm totally stumped on this one. Server is a dual core 2.33, Intel Pro 1000 network card - gigabit connected, 4GB memory. Server is connected to 6 AXIS IP based cameras. Server has been running like a champ for about 8 weeks but in the last few days these error messages started popping up. For the l...
