shmall and shmax were abandoned, in favor of mmap /dev/shm, beginning with zoneminder version 1.25.
Changing these settings today will not affect ZoneMinder at all.
Good to know thanks.

It is out of my install items to do & I have gone back to the default settings.

Re: [SOLVED] Monitoring high resolution/high fps feed

I just put in a replacement install for an old system because /dev/shm was at 100% on old system & did not pay to upgrade. I have been replacing all of our ZM server where we cannot use VM with Intel I7 NUC with 16gb RAM & 1tb SSD & has been rocK solid on all 6 other installs. On this last one, I ha...

Re: 1.30.2 upgrade breaks API access

Hi all, I had the above problem. I would get a blank page back when trying to access the api page. I did the fix above (systemd-tmpfiles --create zoneminder.conf) and now I get a red bar that states : Error: The requested address '/zm/api/' was not found on this server. Thanks, Bob Assume you have ...

Re: HikVision PTZ control

Got it to work!

My issue was somewhat my stupidity & somewhat not.

I had a typo on my IP & when I took out port 88 I got it to work.

Logging definitely helped out for me.

Great Job!

Thank you so much for this.

Re: HikVision PTZ control

Thanks. Almost.

We seem to have fixed the error, however now when you try to control, there is no response from the camera.

I'm stuck. Sorry to bug about this but i am hoping my stupidity helps someone else out down the line.

The perl script gives me nothing, so I am thinking it is not on my machine. whereis also comes up blank. Where should it be? I am currently running Ubuntu 16.04 with ZM 1.30 installed u...

Hi all, I have been using ZM since 1.24 but just started to install PTZ cameras. Has anyone gotten the a Hikvsion PTZ controlled over IP working on ZM? Any instructions or wiki I missed? Would love to get them working. Currently testing on 1.30 with ONIVF setup, which is awesome BTW. No typing & rem...

Re: Dist upgrade to 14.04 first wants to uninstall ZM

How can we get 14.04 to install 1.29 as the base system?

I don't want to lose what took me a long time to setup & stabilize but ZMNinja is too enticing to leave the systems as is.

Thanks

Dist upgrade to 14.04 first wants to uninstall ZM

Hi all, After tinkering around with my closest physical machine, I have a few more to upgrade. Love ZMNinja as I was an early EyeZM user that is long gone so now I must upgrade the rest of the pack! All of my machines are on 12.04. When I went to do a dist-upgrade, the machine wanted to uninstall ZM...

Re: Cannot write to content dirs('events','images'). Check that these exist and are owned by the web account user

rockedge, thanks for responding but found the issue.

events & images folder had root as the owner, needed to be www-data.

here is the link that helped me.
