Re: Filters Date/time

The only significant difference I see between mine and yours is that yours is set to "Date" and mine is set to "Date/Time". Mine works.

Re: Problem with various bt878A cards

What version of Linux are you using? There are reports of issued with newer versions of Linux and the bt878. This thread mentions it. https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=23767 With the older versions of Linux I've used, no setup is required if the card is in the machine when Linux...

Re: PC & capture card recommendations

Likewise here. I'm running a PV149 card with 4 cameras at 768x482. They are cameras with 16:9 aspect ratio so the weird resolution I'm using. They run at 30fps with very little load on the ZM server. The BT868 chip cards like my PV149 and my older PV143 may not be supported by the newer Linux kernel...

No. ZM runs as a service no matter if you are viewing it in a browser or not.

Re: "Add New Monitor" button disabled

The only suggestion I have it to make sure you are logged in as Admin, and that Admin has permissions for that function.

Thanks. I'll try those numbers. You probably saved me a lot of time finding them by myself.

What settings did you settle on to fix the problem? I have similar issues here.

Try admin/admin.
I believe that is what the default was when I last installed it.

Re: How to set up IP cams remotely?

I'll take a stab at this, but you have to excuse my ignorance as I'm no networking expert. First of all, why all the routers? You need only router 1. The rest would simplify the system if replaced with cheap ethernet switches. My approach on this would be to replace routers 2-6 with switches. Then, ...

No, ethernet never wires in series. You run a separate wire from each camera parallel to an ethernet switch.

This is what my old card was. I used it for almost 10 years with Zoneminder. I retired it when it started dropping channels. No drivers other than what Linux has native are required. Re: PCI-8604PW 4 Channel (4x 878A Chips)

The card appears to be a generic 878 card which should work fine with Ubuntu. I have an old card here that appears to be almost exactly the same. I ran this card for around 10 years with Zoneminder 1.2 and an early version of Ubuntu. It should work with no issues. I'm currently running a newer versi...
