Counting Vehicles

Bit of an unusual use case ... but I was wondering if anyone could advise if ZoneMinder could be used for this (or if they could recommend anything else) I have a camera overlooking a two lane road and am looking to count vehicles in each direction - essentially all I need is an output from zone min...

Thanks, it's worth mentioning that the MJPEG stream works fine with "Security Spy" on OSX ... so I'm assuming it can be made to work with ZoneMinder quite easily.

It works perfectly if you use the JPEG url above (/snapshot.jpg) ... that is just a static image but obviously ZM polls it (and it works great up to 10fps)

There's a motion jpeg feed at /snapshot.cgi - so far that *doesn't* work with ZoneMinder

The AJAX/JavaScript capabilities of Safari on the iPhone (and the fact that it supports MJPEG) is what attracted me to doing it (that and I use one!)

Wouldnt know where to start producing it for other mobile devices :P

iPhone Interface

Trying to gauge interest in this, as it's something I'm contemplating developing for my own use and I'm trying to decide whether or not to try and write it in a sensible way that can be used by others ... or just hack something together for myself :) I'm contemplating developing an iPhone-specific v...

Why not MJPEG

Can anyone suggest why this camera wont work with MJPEG with Zoneminder - /snapshot.jpg provides a static image and /snapshot.cgi provides an MJPEG stream which works fine in my web browser but NOT with ZoneMinder; This is what it's sending from the camera; Server: GoAhead-Webs Pragma: no-cache Cach...

This camera works great out of the box with ZM... The following will give you two camera templates for the Edimax cameras; INSERT INTO MonitorPresets (Name,Type,Device,Channel,Format,Host,Port,Path,Width,Height,Palette,MaxFPS,Controllable) VALUES('Edimax, 640x480','Remote',NULL,NULL,NULL,'admin:<pas...
