pre and post event buffering are unaffected and work just how you would expect. Just note my caveats on kernel versions and Zoneminder. I am currently running 2.6.20 as I have had no success with later versions. All related to video4linux2 I believe. Sledgehammer One specific question if I may - one...

I've just looked at my first post and I see that I don't give any reasons for doing this so now I will. Zoneminder has a complex motion detection scheme, Which when properly understood can give very good results. I ran all sorts of analysis on the stats from the cameras but was never able to get the...

I've come in to this a bit late but have you tried running xawtv on this card. Its got lots of tweaks and things to try to help diagnose the problem.

Best of luck

Hi. How fast motion compared to ZM? Regards. I'm not sure what you mean really but if you are talking about the motion detection algorithm then I'm guessing Motions is faster than ZM because, at least in my case, the average system load went down. mateuszknapik, Glad you got it all working. How are...

Running Zoneminder and Motion together

Hi After a huge deluge (where deluge = 1) of people asking me how to run Zoneminder and Motion together I have written this guide. It may answers some questions that people have and I would be interested in other peoples experiences. All I can say is that it works for me on my setup and actually doe...

I think you will be wanting to adjust ZM_WEB_MONTAGE_WIDTH and ZM_WEB_MONTAGE_HEIGHT on the 'Web' tab of the 'Options' page. That should do it for you.

It seems to me that a lot of this work has already been done in the 'Motion' program. Its got a smart-mask feature to filter out moving branches etc, its got an auto noise filter which, err, filters out noise and then there is the despeckle feature that removes general uninteresting gunk (couldn't t...

I had these errors only the other day on a system that has been stable for months. However I had done something different in that I had been streaming video from the VDR software running on that machine and this process did not appear to finish properly. Whether this caused lack of memory or over wr...

Hi James, My camera is most certainly not sony but I was hoping the CCD would be. As for interlacing the following thread describes the problem well especially the comment by kamand. I wish I had found this thread earlier. http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4580&highlight=deinterla...

Chaps, I posted this yesterday but for some reason the forum didn't take it. No doubt it was finger trouble on my part. Thanks for replying, I really didn't expect any replies on new years eve! James, the only reason I question the quality of UK goods is due to the fact that they look the same and h...

Have I been scammed on Ebay?

Hi Guys, My first posting and and as is usual for a first posting its when somebody wants help/info :-) I recently bought a 480TVL CCD camera from Ebay but my tests seem to prove otherwise. Running it at above 384x288 ie 640x480 for instance gives me interlacing problems. Running at 384x288 gives me...
