Re: Workaround for superfast event replay speed

Yes, the fast forward and rewind code in Zoneminder has some erroneous calculations in it. I've found the WEB_H_VIDEO_MAXFPS, WEB_M_VIDEO_MAXFPS or WEB_L_VIDEO_MAXFPS setting (depending on which performance profile your using) effects the replay speed. If the *_MAXFPS is close to the same of our vid...

ZM viewer for RaspberryPi with a display hat

When I saw a these little displays that connect to the top of a RaspberryPi I thought they would make a perfect little "always on" viewer for Zoneminder. I find it convenient to have this running so I don't need to go to my computer and open my browser or take out my phone and start an app...

Re: Updated to 1.24.4; control of Axis cameras stopped worki

Hi Phil, I installed JSON::ANY through the cpan before I saw your post. The ptz controls are working now. I didn't get a chance to try your patch on a system without JSON::ANY installed. :( Thanks for the .dep advice, that fixed the issue. I keep a working copy of the Zoneminder SVN repo that has a ...

Re: Updated to 1.24.4; control of Axis cameras stopped worki

The controls to my AirLink 747W died in Zoneminder after a recent update to 1.24.4 as well. I manually entered debugging statements in the perl scripts and I found that zmcontrol.pl silently dies (couldn't find any error messages anywhere) when the script reaches General.pm at the line "my $res...

Re: ZoneMinder 1.24.3 Archlinux

One possibility is that you need to include '/tmp/' to your 'open_basedir' line in your /etc/php/php.ini.

For example, your open_base line might look like this:
open_basedir = /srv/http/

If that's the case you'll want to change it to:
open_basedir = /srv/http/:/tmp/
and then restart Apache.

To promote you cameras to Zoneminder users and installation consultants, I suggest trying the following: * Install Zoneminder and find the best configuration that works for you camera. * Make a post in the "Hardware Compatibility List" forum with the name and model of the camera in the tit...

IP Camera's that Zoneminder can capture 30 fps from.

Hi all, I'm helping out someone who is looking to record (without motion detection) from IP cameras at 30 fps. I was wondering if anyone knows of which IP camera's that Zoneminder can achieve high frame rates from (say 25fps-30fps) with decent Image quality of at least 640x480 resolution? There are ...

As long as the Linux kernel has drivers for those cards, they should work. An issue you might have is the /dev/video[number] mapping is different every time after a system reboot. If that's the case, you can force the mapping or have the system create symbolic links with names of your choosing (e.g....

Forums are getting hit pretty hard by spammers

The forums have always had spam bot posts from time to time, but it's currently getting pretty bad. Bellow are links to obvious spammers profiles. Their posts are either asking people to go to some link or they have links in their signatures and their post content is pretty random and irrelevant. ht...

Beire, try moving the patch.diff to your Zoneminder source folder. Then open a terminal and change the directory to you Zoneminder source folder and run the command:

patch -p0 -i patch.diff

I've been having issues with the montage scaling since several minor release back. It's always been an issue with the mootools libs. Firebug is good for locating these problems. They've alway been where mootools assume a parameter is defined and try's to call a member varaible from the pramater. In ...

ArchLinux perl folder reogranization

FYI, to any people with Zoneminder on Arch Linux. I did a system upgrade on my arch box today and got a message about a reorganization of some Perl lib folders (http://www.archlinux.org/news/perl-5121-moved-to-core/). My control script for my Pan-Tilt camera stopped working and I feared more Perl-re...

oh, your card is a BRG palette type.

I noticed Zoneminder doesn't have the BRG555, 565 and 444 types. I think they do exist in v4l2 (I think I've seen them in a .h file for the v4l2 libraries). Hopefully someone will provide a patch to include those palette types in Zoneminder.
