bttv errors in system log

Hi, has anyone seen these errors before in the system log? It's ZM 1.27 on CentOS 7 and an BT878 video capture card on /dev/video0. 'kernel: bttv: 0: timeout: drop=31600 irq=138887/138888, risc=c8acb01c, bits: HSYNC OFLOW' About once a second. I've set fps=3 secs and 320x240, 8 bit grey scale. Thank...

Re: Brooktree BBT78 card shows single camera on all 4 ports

Have you set the right card type? Mine is a similar card and it's type 77. so in /etc/modprobe.d I have a file bttv.conf with a single line 'options bttv card=77 tuner=4' which works for me.

Re: Anyone got ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7?

Thank you SO much! I spent hours over the weekend wrestling with this, and I would never have found those issues myself. It's now built and installed. I have a little metal-bashing to do before I power up the video card but that's familiar territory for me and hopefully I will have that sorted withi...

Re: Anyone got ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7?

Great, thanks very much! That fixed the ffmpeg problem. Lots of warnings about deprecated calls but nothing generated an error. My build fell at the last hurdle; with the perl issue I referred to on my original post. I googles for a solution to this without success yesterday. It looks like a perl pa...

Re: Anyone got ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7?

I had already created the symbolic links, having read your post from a few months ago. Sadly it made no difference.

Should I build ffmpeg from source instead of using the version in the nux-dextop.repo version?

Thanks for helping us with this!

Re: Anyone got ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7?

Thanks for the quick responses to these questions - much appreciated. I think we both got ffmpeg from the nux-dextop repo and I certainly installed ffmpeg-devel too. If I run ffmpeg I get the text below displayed. Maybe this isn't a compatible version? ffmpeg version 2.3.2 Copyright (c) 2000-2014 th...

Re: Anyone got ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7?

Making progress! cmake completes successfully, everything else set up OK but i've now got these errors which I think are ffmpeg related - any ideas welcome please! : [ 22%] Building CXX object src/CMakeFiles/zm.dir/zm_event.cpp.o cd /opt/ZoneMinder-1.27.0/src && /bin/c++ -Wall -D__STDC_CONSTANT_MACR...

Re: Anyone got ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7?

Thanks, Chris, the instructions are useful, particularly the cmake bits; I'd always configured manually before and was scratching my head there a bit! The issue with CentOS 7 is that lots of stuff has changed by default. For example 'service httpd start' is replaced by 'systemctl start httpd' and my...

Anyone got ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7?

Just wondering if anyone has ZoneMinder working on CentOS 7? I've spent the last couple of days wrestling with a variety of errors, mainly FFMPEG and Perl which are preventing ZoneMinder building completely. As CentOS 7 has changed so much from CentOS 6 I'm suspecting it's incompatibilities there ra...

Low power server - usb video capture

Hi, I'm proposing to move from a full-blown PC with PCI 4 port card to a low power server without PCI slots. Does anyone know whether a usb 4 port video capture card will work with zoneminder? Or can recommend anything? There is an x-vision product that is avalable for about £70 and obviously works...

Thanks for the advice. There seems to be an authentication problem of some sort, with zoneminder not able to set the default values because it doesn't know who the user is; but it does allow a login. Here is a clip from the apache2 error_log file which I hope gives you a clue, because I'm stumped! Y...

Problems since upgrade to SuSE10.3

Apologies that this partially duplicates a post on 1.22.3 that Cordel has already helped me with! I've now upgraded to 1.23.0 but it hasn't helped hence posting here. Zoneminder is running OK but I'm getting errors when viewing events. I suspect its another PHP feature has been changed when upgradin...

Sorry, more problems!

I have a few more problems - zoneminder is running OK but I'm gettin errors when I view events now - and I suspect its another PHP feature which has somehow been changed. The symptoms are that the default rate to view streamed events is 100x, the default size is at 4x - both cases the maximum value ...
