Phil Thanks i can now get media player to view stream, but if i enter that into my pocket pc or smartphone neither work, ppc is media 10 and smartphone is media 9

Can they do this or dont they support asf?

not a traditional one no. a mux could split the screen then the output from the mux could be connected to an ip server ( or modify the camera)

Can i view a live stream in media player instead of ie. I assume i just put in the url but i dont know what the url is likely to be or where i can get it from

does the live cd turn the firewall on then. I didnt but I have a hardware firewall already, (but zm is in the dmz for testing oops)

thankyou ross. I believe I have you to thank for the live cd build. Amazing software, amazing way to install it. Thank you. One thing you might know is i cant vnc into the box either, any ideas why not. It keeps saying connection refused i have tried starting vnc it says it started ok through webmin...

I have built various amd boxes on pcchips asus or abit mobos, dependant upon job built for and how much cash i had to play with. I prefer asus boards but abit are pretty good, had a pcchips fail big taking 2 Gig ram with it once so i have little trust of them. but thats only one board out of say 10 ...

I have a system that keeps getting its clock wrong. I assum ethat it thinks its in the states and i would like to tell it its not. Unforunatly its headless in my loft and im too lazy to ket a monitor keyboard etc to change it, I can change the clock form webmin can i change system locale too??
