need to keep an eye on a remote location?

Post by R3MF »

got a sempron64 @ 1.6GHz + 256k cache
512MB DDR400
Via K8M800 motherboard
80GB HD
i reckon we need about two IP cameras and two USB cameras to cover the while building, any recommendations on extra hardware needed to complete the build?

Axis 206 for £133.49 -
http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Qu ... 0000,50751
Gadspot GS1000 for £104.49 -
http://www.gadspot.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=GS1000
which would be better?

any suggestions on USB cameras, preferably available from dabs?

cheers

Yep, 206 is a great internal IP camera.

FYI. shopaxis.co.uk had a "3 for 2" offer on 206's last week, not bad as they're usually the cheapest supplier anyway. (Also reliable - I've had 10 cameras from them over the past year)

Most of the 3 for 2 type offers are direct promotions from Axis. So if you see one somewhere then chances are they are available everywhere and it's always worth asking!

cheers both.

just out of curiosity, has anyone tried these:

Sweex IP Network Camera JA200010

they are half the price, so while i appreciate you get what you pay for, if someone knows they work ok I might opt for these.
