Re: zoneminder 1.28 source download for Centos 6
RPM's and SRPMS's for both ZoneMinder 1.28.1 and 1.29.0 are currently on zmrepo right now.
No one removed anything. The documentation is in the rpm/srpm.

Point your webbrowser to the place where you first installed zmrepo, zmrepo.zoneminder.com. The links to browse the repo are all there, right in front of you.
If you need further help, please be less vague about your intentions.

Re: zoneminder 1.28 source download for Centos 6
Working as intended. That is how (all) repositories work. When you issue "yum update", by design your system gets updated, hence the word "update".
If you don't want the latest package, then the standard rules for using "yum downgrade" apply. Googling reveals this:
http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/howto-yum- ... fic-linux/
Be advised that the ZoneMinder package depends on ffmpeg and vlc packages. If you are running in 64 bits, These packages will also have to be rolled back to their previous versions.
Care to explain why you don't want version 1.29?
If you don't ever want to upgrade then you may want to consider disabling zmrepo once you've got the version of ZoneMinder you desire.
If you have already upgraded your ZoneMinder database to 1.29, then the best thing to do would be to start over with a new 1.28.1 database.

Re: zoneminder 1.28 source download for Centos 6
Please show us what "not working" means to you.
To do that, we need to see your entire log, from the moment you start zoneminder, up until the point just after error messages appear (or you see "Capturing at x.xx frames per second"). Do NOT attempt to open any monitors during this test.
I own a Foscam FI9821W, and it works quite well in every version of ZoneMinder I've ever used it on.

Re: zoneminder 1.28 source download for Centos 6
And there you see the problem.
You've assigned a value to ZM_SERVER_HOST in the file /etc/zm/zm.conf. Setting that variable is not part of the installation instructions.
Why did you do that? Do you have more than one ZoneMinder server?
If you are not attempting to configure the new multi-server feature, that variable should not be set.

Re: zoneminder 1.28 source download for Centos 6
I already did.
If you can remember why you set ZM_SERVER_HOST, it would be helpful to get answers to these:
Undo this.You've assigned a value to ZM_SERVER_HOST in the file /etc/zm/zm.conf
If you can remember why you set ZM_SERVER_HOST, it would be helpful to get answers to these:
I am not doing this to point fingers. I'm asking these questions because I am trying to get in your head. I'm trying to understand why you did what you did. That will speed up the troubleshooting process, and in some cases allow me to update the documentation to keep others from making the same mistake.Why did you do that? Do you have more than one ZoneMinder server?

Re: zoneminder 1.28 source download for Centos 6
I am doing these steps
wget http://zmrepo.connortechnology.com/el/6 ... noarch.rpm
sudo yum install --nogpgcheck zmrepo-6-4.el6.noarch.rpm
sudo yum install zoneminder
After the installation, there’s a bunch of instructions to be completed before ZoneMinder will work.
=======================================================================
NEW INSTALLS
=======================================================================
1. Unless you are already using MySQL server, you need to ensure that
the server is confired to start during boot and properly secured
by running:
sudo service mysqld start
/usr/bin/mysql_secure_installation
sudo chkconfig mysqld on
2. Using the password for the root account set during the previous step, you will need to create the ZoneMinder database:
mysql -uroot -p
mysql> create database zm;
mysql> grant select,insert,update,delete,lock tables,alter on zm.* to 'zmuser'@localhost identified by 'zmpass';
mysql> exit;
mysql -uroot -p < /usr/share/zoneminder/db/zm_create.sql
mysqladmin -uroot -p reload
3. If you have chosen to change the zoneminder mysql credentials to something other than zmuser/zmpass then you must now edit /etc/zm.conf. Change ZM_DB_USER and ZM_DB_PASS to the values you created in step 2.
4. IMPORTANT: Edit /etc/php.ini and put in the appropriate timezone for date.timezone!
5. The ZoneMinder web interface is disabled by default, you will need to edit this file to enable it:
/etc/httpd/conf.d/zoneminder.conf
HINT: Most users will want to simply delete the line that says
"Deny from all".
6. Configure the web server to start automatically:
sudo chkconfig httpd on
sudo service httpd start
7. This package will automatically configure and install an SELinux policy called local_zoneminder. A copy of this policy is in the documentation folder.
Unfortunately, this has not resolved all the SELinux issues so
most will want to disable SELinux permanently by editing the following:
/etc/selinux/conf
Change SELINUX line from "enforcing" to "disabled". This change will not take effect until a reboot, however. To avoid a reboot, execute the following from the commandline:
sudo setenforce 0
8. Finally, you may start the ZoneMinder service:
sudo service zoneminder start
Then point your web browser to http:///zm
Once you have completed the steps above for new installation, ZoneMinder should run.
wget http://zmrepo.connortechnology.com/el/6 ... noarch.rpm
sudo yum install --nogpgcheck zmrepo-6-4.el6.noarch.rpm
sudo yum install zoneminder
