Hi All,

I'm using Zoneminder 1.28.x, latest stable version.
Thxs for the Devs/users for this great tool.

I have integrated a Dahua Mini-Dome PTZ Camera.

I have setup a dahua.pm perl file with the http commands to control it.
I had to use a spec I found online and wireshark IP packet sniffer to figure out the correct commands.
I'm still working on the control file.

One thing I have noticed is that when I tell the camera to pan , tilt, or zoom,
the video is delayed by 5+ secs. I thought this might be due to the number of buffers assigned to the camera.

The camera responds quickly but the video is delay.

Is there a way to make the video display much quicker.
I have reduced the buffer size, but that helps a little, but it makes motion detection not reliable,
and the number of frames before/after alarm too small.

Sadly, no response to my question.

Maybe because no-one has had that problem with that camera?

Just as a check: What frame rate (FPS) have you got set on the settings in Zoneminder for this camera?

If the answer is anything other than "blank" ... that could give you problems (delays).

Control the frame rate at the camera's end, with it being an IP camera.

That's all I've got

I have a Dahua 3MP non PTZ camera, and I have noticed delay in the cameras stream, gets worse on high res like a second or two. I was using the cameras web server to view not ZM. In the end I use low res stream direct from camera for watching it live, for zm I don't mind the delay as it still works fine, as zm is detecting motion and recording it as it appears. But I guess if you are moving the camera the delay would cause issues.

Any way you could post your dahua.pm perl file. I have an Older Dahua PTZ and the commands to control it, but no idea how to structure the file.
