I didn't buy a DVR system as I run only Linux here and every DVR system I looked at did not support Linux. Instead, I took one of my old computers, installed a video capture card in it, and installed Zoneminder. Now I have a security system that fully supports Linux, Windows, Mac, and any other operating system capable of running a browser.
I could have purchased a ready to go DVR system, but couldn't find one I would be satisfied with.

You'd think that someone that knew how to code and with different apps like motion, ffmpeg and Wput etc... (from Wput) is a tiny ftp-client, that uploads files or directories to a remote ftp-server. Main features are: resuming, time-stamping, wget-like interface, proxy-support and speed-limit, or something like that could put it all together and make it work. I guess it would have been done by now if there were some way to do it.
Thanks
