I'm looking to run this capture card on a a Atom based motherboard (D510) using 2GB of ram. Will this be enough memory to run 8 cameras at 640 x 480 on a Linux mint distro of Zoneminder? Any advice would be appreciated.

Is 2GB of Ram enough to run the Kodicom 8800 8 channel card?

RAM is one thing, but with an underpowered CPU like an Atom, I highly doubt you can do anything useful (ie: motion-detection) with 8-cams.

One of my test servers is a 2GHz AMD, and although it's single core, it's double the speed of most atoms, and can barely handle 4 cams on modect. The dual core won't yield a linear increase performance, and the atom is underpowered compared to their desktop counterparts... but maybe you can milk it

oh... and to be honest, no plans for Android just yet. We are a very small company, and can't spread our resources too thin. The iPhone app is currently in the review process with Apple, so once it gets approved and is stable, we can focus on Android. Sorry!: (

I will say this zm can run on anything will you just need to tweek it.
I have 4 cameras at 5 fps running on a 600mhz pentum3 with 256mb of ecc ram.
with modetect and recording.
The big trick is to enable "frame skip" in the camera setting so it is not detecting motion on every frame like mine have a frame skip of five so its only checking for motion about once per second per camera.
