Post by DREMA »

Does anyone know or have this camera? http://www.estcctv.com/product/en/produ ... ductid=638

I can't find any relevant info, or if it support direct stream without plugins so I can use it with Zoneminder.

Also this appears to be its home page http://www.estcctv.com

Any info will be apreciated.

Thanks!

You might want to check PD100HV2W from BSTI:
http://www.bsti.com.tw/ip-surveillance/ ... index.html

It works fine with zoneminder.

It looks to be the same camera.
How do you get the stream for the camera? mjpeg or stills jpgs? what is the path to the image?

Thanks for the info.

It is all in the wiki:

You can also connect zoneminder to their demo cameras in Taiwan.

I just installed the BSTI PD100HV2W on my Zoneminder system.

I made notes as I went and posted this link to them on the wiki.
http://www.zarshmogon.com/bsti_PD100HV2W_on_Zoneminder/

Good: Has Nightvision LEDs that turn on automatically in dark.

Bad : No WPA Encryption support, just WEP :-( . Daylight resolution ok, not great.

Overall: fair low cost cam, ~$120 with shipping (depends on qty though).

Hi zarshmogon

I'm curious, where did you buy the cams?

Am I way of, if I think you are located in UK?

I'm from Denmark, and the Danish state has a very nasty habit of putting VAT on top of everything that one buys outside of EU.

Are you still happy with your cams? Will you recommend them?

I do hope you have the time to answer my questions

Hej Lars,
I bought the cams on Ebay. As far as I can tell BSTI only sells via Ebay.

I'm actually in the US so I don't know about any tax implications in Europe I'm afraid. I didn't have to pay any (Although believe me we have plenty of other taxes here to make up for it :-) ).

So far the cams seem ok. I haven't installed them outside yet so I cannot comment on the weatherproofing. I'll post some more data in a month or two to let folks know how they are doing.

As you can see from my link the daylight image quality isn't as good as my Airlink SkyIP250W but then again they are night vision cams so perhaps that is the trade off. I don't have any other experience of IR nightvision cams so perhaps someone else can comment whether that is normal.

The lack of WPA wifi encryption support is the biggest negative I see so far but that wasn't really a deal breaker for me.

I also realise now that having the power and Ethernet bundled together in one cable hanging off the back of the cam is going to make it a bit of a PIA to wire up in a water tight 120v housing outside. I may have open up the cam and do things differently.

I guess my summary is; a reasonable night vision cam for a low price.

If they're not weather proof enough.... I'll Plasti Dip mine.
