Hi,

I'll be try and test zm4ms. Live mode is work and it's fine. But I don't use Playback function. When I click a camera number on Playback will be up a pop up message "Error connection to database. Host is not allowed to connect to this MySQLServer".

I don't understand because I written to SQL User uname and Password a valid zm user data. In my.conf

port:3306

#skip-network

Firewall is stopped. I use zm on Opensuse 10.2 and zm work on other subnet (192.168.2.30) and client winxp on other subnet (192.168.0.41). Two subnet beetwen work a router. It routes 80, 3306 port.

you will need to change the access password in the settings in zm4ms in the playback config. There is a setting for the user name and password you want zm4ms to use to access mysql. default is viewer and viewer i think

I modified it before I written my letter. My current settings in Playback tab.

Enable "Playback Enabled"
SQL User name : admin (admin of zm)
SQL Password : ******** (password of admin of zm)
SQL ZM Database name : zm

Other settings are default.

What is wrong? Thanks.

i dont think you can add users from my.conf

You need to add them to the database. I use webmin for the task. BUt you can use the command line. Have a look on the net about adding users to mysql

I added user viewer to mysql. When I'll be connecting zm4ms to Playback I get an error message. "Error connecting to the database: Acces denied for user 'viewer@%' to database 'zm'.

I can telnet to mysql and 3306 port is work I can connect to mysql with viewer user. I think mysql remote connection work properly but zm4ms can't..

well for whatever reason your mysql is refusing access to zm4ms.
Trust me it works for me so i dont think its a zm4ms issue.

Just to be clear
YOu have created a user called viewer with a password of viewer
this user can connect from ANY host and can select data?

to be sure download the mysql windows tools from mysql and test the above.

Ill bet you a tenner it aint zm4ms thats the problem

I enabled select, insert, delete, update and it works but can't show picture in Playing window. If I double click on the right panel All Events list then it show only pictures of selected events an pop up window. An red 'x' displayed in Playing window. Why can't it shows picture?

dunno.
did you chnage the number of digits for events stored?
and what is you playback path ie is it std.
<ip>/zm/ etc

this app works out the box with the live cd... if you dont match the live cd config then you will need to edit the path configs to match your zm install

Playback path was correct, number of digits for events stored was six. I made it to 3 and work. Fine. Thanks yours help.

I have two question. First, what mean exactly number of digits for events stored. Because number of events of my zm is 30-4000, but digits of number is 6, because I contiously delete old pictures of events and max number of events cca. 200000.

Second, I read that zm4ms is not GNU/GPL softver how can I use it for privat (home) or/and for business (my office)?

you can use zm4ms however you see fit for free. However the source code is not available
