axis 2100 and zm

Post by occhiostanco »

I can't find which web path to specify to get an image out from axis 2100 ip camera.
Camera server/image is available at the target ip location
(http://ip/view/index.shtml) but I can't figure which path to
specify in zm:monitor:source:remote_host_path

I tried /axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi as well as
/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=320x240

but no image....

Any hint ?
Thanks

... my monitor:source settings:

remote host name: 130.186.6.92
remote host port: 80
remote host path: /axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=320x240
(this line works if specified as url in browser)
remote image colours: 24 bit
capture width: 320
capture height:240
orientation: normal

thanks

Do the presets for Axis cams not work for you?

Don't know the 2100, but if it has mjpeg support that's preferable;

/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution=640x480

add &compression=50 for smaller files and &color=0 for b&w.

I don't know if the 2100 has the inbuilt url-builder tool, but that's very useful (even if it forgets to include non-standard ports).

axis presets ...

Post by occhiostanco »

Sorry Phil,
I'm very new to zm...
Now I saw the "preset" link in monitor configuration, but, maybe
I have a basic problem in the main zm console.
From the documentation/screenshot I read that I should click
in the monitor "name" link to view the image.
Also, i could click in the "montage" link to see all active monitors.
BUT neither monitor "name", nor "montage" are links for me and I can't
click them.

Also, the Delete button does not delete the marked monitor...

I feel I may have a permission problem in the console ?
What should I check ?

If the monitor 'name' is not a link then it implies that your monitor is not running. Did you start ZM? What colour are the monitor function and device columns?

There is a deleting monitor bug in 1.22.0. There is a patch which you should be able to find if you search the forums but if you can't find it I'll post it here. Either way it is fixed in 1.22.1 which will be out in the next few days.

axis preset...

Post by occhiostanco »

oops, zm was not running.
Now the zm init script is ok, zm is running and I can click
monitor "names", "cycle" and "montage".

But still no images (I see the usual broken image item in the browser).

However if I hit the "zones" button in the monitor "name" window
I get an image and can define zones against it

Ideas ?

Thanks

Can you post the source of a non-working page? Is your httpd cgi config set up correctly? E.g. pointing to the right directory with the right permissions?
