Translation Help Wanted!!
Re: Translation Help Wanted!!
How to check in the translation directly by SVN?
Re: Translation Help Wanted!!
Please help to translate the option v1.25.0
It does not work, instead of the text is empty. In the new version (v1.25.0) in any language are translated Options.
Solved: fix.tar attachment
Code: Select all
// So for example, to override the help text for ZM_LANG_DEFAULT do
$OLANG = array(
'LANG_DEFAULT' => array(
'Prompt' => "This is a new prompt for this option",
'Help' => "This is some new help for this option which will be displayed in the popup window when the ? is clicked"
),
);

Click on the coloured sections of the graph, or the image, to view the event.
Click on the background to zoom in to a smaller time period based around your click.

Warning, deleting a monitor also deletes all events and database entries associated with it.
Are you sure you wish to delete?

OK, meanwhile I found where to modify the main PHP code to enable localization of these.
This, plus montage window dropbox items localization enabling patch submitted in the develop branch.
Localized strings for en_GB and hu_HU submitted in the develop branch.
Please test!

I'm trying to edit the console.js script, but I can't make it to take a variable from the language file.
For some reason it keps thorwing back the entire function name.
Tried with double, single quotes etc. doesn't work:
function deleteMonitor( element )
{
if ( confirm( "'<?= $SLANG['OptionRestartWarning'] ?>'" ) )
{
var form = element.form;
form.elements['action'].value = 'delete';
form.submit();
}
}

Re: Translation Help Wanted!!
big5_big5.php is not working in v1.34.20, but shouldn't it be called zh_tw.php? And according to ISO 639-1, shouldn't cn_zh.php be called zh_cn.php instead?
Other relevant locales are zh_sg and zh_hk.

Re: Translation Help Wanted!!
Sure. I have a few partially updated and working "zh_xx.php"s on a pre-production box. Yes, it is "zh_xx.php" with the correct locale naming conversion. Zoneminder just picks them in up straight away. Amazing! Thank you and folks for making Zoneminder so impressive in every way.
- Changing filenames is pretty trivial, but there is no immediate urgency to fix it.
- Attempting to make big5_big5.php works, I have a quick glance. It doesn't look like there is a simple typo in big5_big5.php itself.
- Apparently, renaming it to zh_tw.php works, i.e. in 2-char_2-char format, but I haven't test it comprehensively.
- My hunch is that there is a problem with locales. Big5, using 2-byte encoding, has/had been widely used in MS-DOS since/in the 80's. HKSCS, which a supplementary character set on the top of Big5, has been available in Windows in since mid-90s. The latter was only replaced by Unicode very/quite recently [well it depends how old you are ]. Both were available in Debian soon after those time; both of them are way, way before the concepts of locales, UTF-8 and Unicode even existed. It is quite possible that an error was introduced when locales were being tidied up at some point. Big5 is quite possibly embedded very deep down in some very old codes.
- Unfortunately, fixing locales is way beyond my ability. Nonetheless, I have included some info for Solaris at the end. It is quite possible to fix it by someone who knows locales, but not necessarily knows the language/dialects itself/themselves.
- The actual translations in all those zh_xx.php need some working. I am quite busy at work in the next three months. To update them to a more acceptable standard, I will need to do it during Christmas break. So hopefully, I will make some contributions some time in the new year as a way to say thank you to the Zoneminder community. One might wonder why such a long delay. I've been using Zoneminder for a week or two. I don't really know its terminology as yet nor its functionality.

Cantonese translation (was: Re: Translation Help Wanted!!)
I am really so sorry. I worked on a Cantonese translation for a bit and thought that I would have finished it at some point. However, I didn't really have enough time in the last few months. Here is an half-baked version of zh_hk.php. It might still be usable.
