1.34.18 Forces Client Browser to 100% CPU

Post by toolz »

Clicking on Montage forces the browser to increase CPU utilization to 100%. The panels do not update. It takes about a minute to make the client running the browser unusable. Clients are Firefox/Ubuntu Linux, i7-2600/3.4GHz and Windows 10, both Firefox and Chrome, i5-660/3.33GHz. Network from client to server is 1Gb hard-wired. On the Linux system, memory utilization approaches 100% and disk reaches 100%. Did not occur previous to the update to 1.34.18. I would be surprised if no-one else has noticed this since I observed it on 2 different clients.

If I had to guess, I would guess that javascript enters an infinite loop.

How many monitors? Is a multi-port install?

Not a lot of changes in there since 1.34.16. Mostly to do with scaling.

One thing that got broke in 1.34.18 but fixed in 1.34.19 is that before we would ask zms for a scaled image.. the parameters got messed up so you would get a full size stream no matter the scaled view size. Shouldn't bring the browser to it's knees though.

Also works perfectly for me with 5 cameras multi-server multi-port.

There are 4 monitors. Not sure what you mean by "multi-port install."
