Have a BTTV (bt848, bt849, bt878, bt879 chipsets) card?

Post by robocoder »

A list of supported (recognized) BTTV devices can be found here:
http://linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/Cardlist.BTTV

If your card is not supported, you can create a custom card definition using BtSpy:
http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/custom.html

Disclaimer:

I came here looking to see if anyone had one of these cards http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5806896420 working (or not) with ZM, and noticed quite a number of hardware inquiries about bt8xx-based cards.

i have one of these cards and no i didnt get it working
its not a 878 card its based on the philips SAA7xxx something like that anyway. I have looked on the cardlist (the piture one) and found the card so i assume it will be supported soon. If you make any progress on it id love to know or help if i can

Yup, from the product description (i.e., 9-bit ADCs) I later surmised as well that it used SAA713x chips (although the absence of Philips markings makes me leery) instead of bt8xx chips.

Although you didn't get it working, how far did you get it (given that other 713x-based boards are supported)?

i got images of fc3 newest kernel with tvtime, but cant install zm the hardway. i tried coreys distro but it didnt work with that and the live cd kernel didnt either. when i got it working in fc3 it was auto detected and it showed perfectly smooth real time images much better than any 878 based card i have tried. I believe Ross is gonna make a new live cd basEd on mandriva 2006 as soon as its out (cheers again Ross the amazing liveCD). I might try again with fc4 but i am very new to linux and zm.
