/dev/shm goes 100% with no cameras

Post by Sigge »

Hi,

I am trying to set up a Zoneminder server on a orangePi running Armbian. Plan is to have a USB camera connected and add this server as a multiserver install to my main Zoneminder server.

But /dev/shm keeps getting full. Whatever I do. Just starting Zoneminder without any camera configured. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

This is a multi server setup.

One server has all funktions.

The Pi has only the camera part.

What should ZM_SERVER_HOST point to? Always it self?

Thanks

ZM_SERVER_HOST Should be itself. Also has to match an entry in options -> Servers

If ZM_SERVER_HOST isn't set, it will try to run all cameras which will use up all /dev/shm.

Please note also that Orange Pi doesn't have all that much ram, so your image buffers and resolution will have to be sized accordingly.

Thank you, I suspect this is the problem.

Using multi server Zoneminder with a opi doesn't really solve my problem. I just want to stream 3 USB cameras to the more powerful main server for motion detection. And that is the opposite of what multi server ZM is all about if I understand correctly.

Thanks
