Can't view any events

Post by volfan6415 »

Running on 16.04 with 1.31.40 - storage areas.

I can live stream all cameras. And events are being detected and added with frames. However, if i click on an event there is a black screen that says "the video could not be loaded because the file format is not supported." Also if i click on the frame ID numbers to load a single frame there is nothing that loads.

Attempting to download the event leads to the console page reloading in the download window without anything downloading.

Where should i start looking. What else is needed to debug this.

Also any recent events are not showing as taking up any space on. See below image. The older events that were before the update to 1.31.40 are showing up as taking space. But are also not viewable.

So i never was able to get the older events to ever play. I think someone during the upgrade my old events were "purged" from the system yet the links to them in the database remained? Pure speculation

What i did notice however was that the permissions on my event directory had been changed to root, and not the www-data user that the other folders were. When i changed that i was able to view the events with 1.31.40

after updating ZM it is a good habit to insure the folder permissions are set correctly:

Code: Select all

#chown -R www-data:www-data /etc/zm
#chown -R www-data:www-data /var/cache/zoneminder

Look in logs. There you will find information.

Hi, I add the exact same problem. I solved it by installing:

libavdevice-dev
libavutil-dev
libswscale-dev
libavformat-dev
libavcodec-dev

I can now play the events individually, but I get the error "The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported" when I select "Replay gapless events"

Thanks,

I am also getting this issue.

I am running v1.32.2 (rpm install on CentOS)

Some events I can view and others not. Very random.

When I look through the events and the duration time, I do notice that the ones that are failing have no duration at all ie: 00:00:00

This is quite frustrating.

Has anyone been able to resolve this ?

I'm having the same issues as everyone else. Some events work fine, and others don't. See attached. Running 1.32.2 on Centos 7. It's very frustrating!

Yet, when I posted a bug, it was rudely closed. I'll probably not be recommending this to 6 of my clients who are looking for a Linux based system.
