Hey,

official documentation says that you can use Athlon XP processor to capture up to four cameras. The processor is 32-bit and the Debian Guide doesn't mention is it 64-bit or 32-bit. Ubuntus seems to be 64-bit nowadays.

I can install zoneminder on 32-bit debian, but can't get camera working. Should it work?

Can I use old server hardware to do the job. Specs are:
- 2 x 32-bit CPUs
- 11 Gb RAM (5,5 Gb for each CPU, my quess is that 6 Gb per CPU is maximum in 32-bit achitechture)
- 5 x 32 Gb SCSI HDD

Should I try harder on 32-bit handware or should I forget them?

Which distro you prefer Debian / Ubuntu / Other?

It should work. I can do some testing.

You are likely better off with debian as ubuntu has discontinued 32bit support.

Works fine on my 32bit debian install.
