vertical jitter causes falce alarm

Post by JBL »

about every couple minuits im getting a single vertical jitter on one camera outside
like one line is being droped then added again witch causes a alarm event every couple minuits
this fills the hd with non-event events

i cant tune it out in zones w/o killing motion detection alltogether

i used live disk v1.23.3 to install

On monitor window, like when you create one or edit one, tab buffers, increase to 3 or more on Alarm Frame Count

Perfect advice but be willing to go even higher if you have a high frame rate. I use 7 for a frame rate of 30.

the best i get out of my cheesy 4 port $6 cards is 2.5 fps per cam
with 2 cards installed on 1.2 ghz 900mb ram

changing the alarm frame count to 3 helped

OK THAT HELPED

ok now how do i stop the vertical twitch
allmost all my cameras have this vertical twitch
like a line or two is being croped off the top causing the entire image to jump up for a few frames then drop back down to normal
it seems like zm is in conflict as to vert lines resolution
all cams are set to 320X240 resolution and record at same res
could frame rates being different settings in norm and modect be affecting or creating this twitch?

If I remember correctly I read something on some cameras have that effect for syncronization with the power supply or sumtin like that can't remember, look at the manual of the camera and see if you can find something like that...

Model Sanyo SCC-B1391...
Digital Power Supply Synchronization Method
The Full Digital Method Line Lock is realized in this camera, which adjusts
the vertical camera synchronization directly to improve controllability and
reliability of the camera.
Set to OFF, the camera activates the internal synchronization mode and set to ON, the power
synchronization mode. If you connect multi cameras to the sequential switcher to enter the
automatic conversion mode, the screen will bounce every screen while the camera stays in
INT(internal synchronization). Such bouncing phenomena may be cleared and screen conversion
becomes smooth by setting the L/L switch to ON and using the INT/DEC switch to control the
vertical synchronous phase.
