sort* files

Hi,

I am running Zoneminder 1.23.1 and I have noticed that within /var/tmp there are alot of files prefixed with sort.

eg: sortLklmZe and sortqyo1JR

Each is around 16mb in size, and they contain a list of the events and their jpg images.

What are these files used for? and can I delete them? (since they are in /var/tmp).

They are currently using approx 5 -> 6 GB... or is there a way to disable the creation of these files?

What's preventing you from an upgrade? I have issues dealing with the 1.24.2 option (generally fixable), I don't want to imagine what comes before said version. Ubuntu and others probably have a more recent package. The developer is busy, as are most knowledgeable users, would an upgrade help? I'm thinking of stretching their uses to current-ish versions. Supporting old software's a pain enough when someone's getting paid to do it, and Phil isn't.
