No events visible via zms after upgrade from 1.22.3

Post by hrabe »

No events visible via (nph-)zms after upgrade from 1.22.3, when I click "Stills", images are OK. Distro Slackware 11.0.0 and 12.0.0. New events from zm-1.23.0 are OK.

I thing dreaming:
"FEATURE - ZM can now optionally use a deep file storage tree to avoid the 32k limit on files per directory (Paths->ZM_USE_DEEP_STORAGE) This should only be set on initial install, changing it to a different setting will almost certainly lose all your events. There is currently no migration of events backs and forth between formats. "
I have all events, I have all frames, but streaming for this frames does not work.

Initial Install meaning a fresh install. There is no upgrade path at this time to migrate the events to the new format since this is a beta release candidate and not an official release.
You can upgrade using the old folder format at this time.

Yes, I try old format and I see Frames but not stream (ZM_USE_DEEP_STORAGE=0). With new format (ZM_USE_DEEP_STORAGE=1) frames can not be visible too, that is no problem.

And I have to ask since you haven't mentioned it. Have you restarted all the services each time you changed and of those settings?

Just to clarify, provided you don't change to use deep storage a regular upgrade will work just fine and events will be kept.

Can you check whether you installed mootools (See other thread). I forgot to mention it in the release note but it is important. Also check logs obviously for messages from zms.

Event Streaming problem.

Post by turbocsc »

Hello, I just upgraded to ZM 1.23.1 on Fedora 6. Everthing seems to function fine except for viewing events. I can see still images from events, but cannot receive a stream from an event. I did find the following error with debug logging turned on. Notice that it is getting a monitor ID of zero. I don't see where the monitor ID originates from.

I would expect the monitor ID to be in the query displayed in the log (line 2) below.
Is this correct or does it come from another place?

Thanks.

I found the source of my problem. When I installed my first version of zm, I installed it at /var/www/html/zm. When I upgraded to zm 1.23.1 I installed it at /var/ww/html. In my web browser I kept using /var/www/html/zm which used the incorrect set of PHP files. I deleted all the PHP files under my old path and started using the new one and now I can view events normally.
