Montage Review Fails with a blank screen and error

Post by phillipwheat »

Fairly new to Zoneminder, after getting tired of cheap camera solutions. So far loving ZM!

Today suddenly Montage Review fails.
Log error is: 2020-08-05 17:40:20 web_php 1406 ERR SQL-ERR 'SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1065 Query was empty', statement was '' params: /usr/share/zoneminder/www/includes/database.php 162

Many google and forum searches reveal similar but not exactly the same error. And no viable solutions.

I am running on Ubuntu 20.04 with mysql db. Resources (cpu, storage, memory) are more than adequate.

I would appreciate any assistance as my PHP skills are simple at best.
I am a financial supporter and hope that zoneminder continues development at a high level!

Yeah, it brings up the live view OK, but blanks on pretty much every review option.
Darn. iConnor has said they are breaking stuff - hadn't noticed this.

Not surprisingly, it's the same on 18.04 Bionic

Yeah those looking for things to keep working should be running 1.34.

We are breaking things and we don't have the resources to be too careful about it

That being said, I have just pushed the fixes so new packages are building.

I don't mind the breaking, just want to help by reporting issues.
I appreciate this project and will support it as best I can!
If there is a better path to report issues I would like to help.

Well, I like to try to run the latest. I have Bionic for my 'real' system, and focal - same cams and all, but on an even crummier computer system.
I guess you know the zones are not editable...

Yes I've played with the zones thing, but for my porpoises I'm just recording everything. 7 cameras and hope to have 4 TB of storage. ZM is a hobby now, but I see opportunity in my "day job" to replace aging commercial (expensive) systems with ZM systems. If we can get there, then we can pour some serious donation support at ZM.

I will blaspheme a couple of commercial products I run now. Verint and March. Both good but ZM has so much more potential.

Me too - mocord.

I use it to highlight a couple of 'possums and 'coons that visit from time to time.
And I have one cam that has a shade that flutters in the wind, which I set to ignore, so I can see actual events.
