Zoneminder in FreeNAS jail - fragmenation of files

Post by petec »

Hello I've got Zoneminder 1.34.9 in FreeNAS jail.
I've got 4 cameras, 3 connected by wire, one by AP.
I have set for them 'Record' mode, also 'H.264camera passtrough' is set in properties.
Files are fragmented (has random lengths), and sometimes I fave lack of ~minute.
What is causing this issues, what should I check or adjust.
Cameras are recording in H.265+ (Hikvision), but I have also tried standard H.264, without much difference (omitting huge size for H.264).
Cameras are 2K (2560x1440).

Try lowering frame rate or resolution on cameras (not on zm).

Possibly CPU can't keep up.
fastest way to test streams:
ffmpeg -i rtsp://<user>:<pass>@<ipaddress>:554/path ./output.mp4 (if terminal only)
ffplay rtsp://<user>:<pass>@<ipaddress>:554/path (gui)
find paths on ispydb or in zm hcl

I had set capturing @8 fps, I thought this isn't much.
I've changed now to 4 fps, let we see...
