Modect with limited time events

Post by gal1910 »

Hi, my problem is as follows.
I am using MODECT to capture video only when there is movement on a monitor.
my problem is, whenever there is movement detected, the MODECT won't stop recording until the ALARM is gone. I need the events to be at most, 5 seconds long. that means that if there is a 10 second event being recorded, i want it to be split to 2 events of 5 seconds.
thanks for any help

Thanks for your answer.
I tried editting my monitor's Section Length, under the Misc tab, to 5, but it wouldn't let me.
The minimum requirement for that field is 30.
So I tried to set it to 30, and see if it will divide a long event into sections of 30 seconds, but it didnt. I had an alarm of 1 minute and 22 seconds going, and Zoneminder did not make a new event every 30 seconds for the same alarm, but only 1 event that lasted 1 minute and 22 seconds.
Eventually I want something like the next example:
Lets say I have a 2 minute alarm, then I want that every 5 seconds a new event will be created, while the alarm is going on, and not only after it ends. And when the alarm ends I should have about 24 events for that alarm (2min * 60sec / 5sec = 24). Is there an effective way to make it work the way I want it to?
