Listening for ONVIF events?

Post by Chimaera » Tue Apr 16, 2019 1:35 pm

I have 1.33.1 running and it's working great however I was trying to see if I could off-load some of the event detection to my cameras vs my ZM box.

I was able to get the camera detected and running with ONVIF and the camera is doing event detection and I can see that in the camera logs however I don't see where I would get ZM to listen for ONVIF events and start recording? I'm sure it's something to do with 3rd party triggers but is there no ONVIF trigger built in and I would have to write something that constantly polls my cameras for events?

Can this be done in Zoneminder? I think it's really wasteful to do motion detection on the server and thus prevent the server from entering low power states if the camera can do it almost for free (energy wise).
