FPS display in Montage

Post by jmynheir »

Running latest 1.33.0-1.56.20181217gitg622c17f62.fc28.x86_64

When in Montage with 6 monitors, it will not display FPS, or state. Will work with 5 monitors. Have tried in Firefox and Chrome.

I wonder if it has to do with browser limits

Same issue on RPi 4 (updated from 1.32 today - which was working) using FF 71.0 on Tricia and Vewd on XBR 900f

Running 1.33.16 via deb https://zmrepo.zoneminder.com/debian/master buster/ (zoneminder_1.33.16~20191224.21-buster_amd64.deb).

4 zeros running rtsp and one Pi B

Poking around in options, nothing glaring.

Any ideas???

A little FYI:

Setting up zoneminder (1.33.16~20191223164339-buster) ...
Detected db service is mariadb.service
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'
Creating zm db
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Error creating db.
dpkg: error processing package zoneminder (--configure):
installed zoneminder package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Processing triggers for man-db (2.8.5-2) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
zoneminder
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Not critical IMHO - manual setup of DB works, man pages <meh>

Just another FYI:

In 1.32 I used ffmpeg/H264 passthru, in 1.33 using libvlc (h264 passthru no workie).

Load went from 2 to <completely-out-of control> on this little RPi.

1.32 on a Xen VM, 3GHz, 4M ram, to RPi 4 w/4G, 1.33 w/4G ram overclocked to 2GHz cpu, gpu at 750, using external usb 3 HD. On 1.32 load was about 2 (vs < 1 w/Xen), now off the charts (not feeling warm and comfy now).

Split the CPU/GPU to 512M ram:

Device: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1
HW Rev: c03111
CPU ID: 10000000a0791a3f

Uptime: 16:43:04 up 2:31, 1 user, load average: 8.29, 9.76, 9.98

CPU Freq Status [clock speed]
CPU 0 Freq: 2000MHz
CPU 1 Freq: 2000MHz
CPU 2 Freq: 2000MHz
CPU 3 Freq: 2000MHz

CPU/GPU Memory:
arm=512M
gpu=512M

CPU temp: 75.4'C (167.7'F)
GPU temp: 75.0'C (167.0'F)

I have "green" logs, which does help the "comfy" part.

Fun never ends!!!

My understanding is with a Pi you can't use video writing. Use jpeg's instead.

Link?

I've disabled Storage->Video writer

On another note, had to use Libvlc, no idea why ffmpeg isn't working:

Unable to convert format 0 yuv420p linesize 39925392 height 768 to format 26 rgba linesize 40086880 at frame 0 codec 0 yuv420p : code: 0

There is something wrong with ffmpeg using 32bit on pi. Try 24bit.

As to the fps display, it is because your browser will only make 6 connections to the same source. the ajax background calls to get the fps can't get through. You need to use multiport support.

video writing works on pi now.

also on pi, it is a good idea to build ffmpeg libs with mmal support. zoneminder will use it for hwaccel h264 decoding.

I was running 24 bit color. The load was over 4 w/1.33, temp was @75 on both cpu and gpu

Re-installed 1.32 from rasbian repos:

Device: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1
HW Rev: c03111
CPU ID: 10000000a0791a3f

Uptime: 14:10:56 up 3 days, 3:47, 2 users, load average: 1.23, 1.25, 1.27

CPU Freq Status [clock speed]
CPU 0 Freq: 2000MHz
CPU 1 Freq: 2000MHz
CPU 2 Freq: 2000MHz
CPU 3 Freq: 2000MHz

GPU Freq: 750MHz

CPU/GPU Memory:
arm=512M
gpu=512M

CPU temp: 54.5'C (130.1'F)
GPU temp: 54.0'C (129.2'F)

Not sure what the deal was.
